1. Bidwell needs to be expelled

From the league by the NFL. He reminds me of the chick owner in "Major League" who was hoping her own team would lose. He's done everything possible to make the Cardinals as non-competitive as possible. It's intentional.

Bidwell has gotten rid of all the great players this offseason to make the Cards non-competitive as possible. David Boston, Jake Plummer, Kwamie Lassiter, among others. But not only this year, they gotten rid of Simeon Rice, Garrison Hearst, Aneas Williams, and many others.

when you think about it, what the heck else is there to do in Buffalo and Green Bay? I mean sure, you can catch the Sabres, but both these markets (like DC) have no real competition for the sports entertainment dollar. There is no big time college football around either.

not a god plan. most NFL teams sell out every game. try to buy tickets to the meadowlands someday. can't be done. or Gillette, or 3Com, or Network Associates. hell, the seahawks sell everything out. in fact, non-sellouts are the exception to the rule in every market except Arizona and Indy.

It looks like Dallas, Oakland, San Diego, and others aren't selling out everygame. I know for a fact those three teams have more seats then the average of people comming to the games.

I never worried about getting tix for a game at the Kingdome. Throughout the '90s, it was never a problem to just walk down and buy a ticket right before the game. And I remember noting plenty of empty seats unless it was the Broncos, 49ers, Packers, Raiders or some such team with a big fan base in town.

Of course, for the time being, I will no longer support anything associated with Paul Allen and Bob Whitsitt (sp?), so ...

Those are both football Crazy towns. I am from upstate NY and if you're not a bills fan they might shoot you (I'm only half kidding). As for Green Bay, its a community owned team and the wait for season tickets is years long.

Myself being a Buffalo Area native, people there live and die by the Bills. You are one brave soul if you are not a Bills fan in that area. You are quite correct about only half kidding. Another thing about Bills fans is that we remain fans of the Bills no-matter if we move to another area to live.

I live in Hampton Roads VA. There are two Bills Backers club here in VA beach alone. I am a member of one of the backers, we meet in a sports bar every week of the football season. Since the group is quite large (draws probably more 40 or more each week) we have a whole section reserved just for us.

well...hope you have your life insurance paid up. I went to a Bills/Phins game when I was 7, and was wearing a turqoise shirt (with no team logo, my parents wouldn't let me wear a dolphins shirt to the game). I caught hell from bills fans for that.

Bills fans are cool 50 weeks a year though.

12. This is only important ...

if every stadium in the NFL held about the same number of people. This is clearly not the case. Each team has an absolute maximum of people that can see a game, so when there is a sell out, it means different things to each team. This should be expressed as a % of the stadium capacity.

This is also the reason that the NFL blackout rule is bullshit.

You have small market teams with enormous outdoor stadiums (Like the Bills), who sell out less often than other teams (like the 9ers), who actually have 10 year waiting lists to get season tickets.

One O'Clock games in Tempe in September just aren't that much fun. (I know by experience!) And that's not to mention how low the Cards average would be if they had played Seattle and Cincinnati/Baltimore/... instead of Seattle and Green Bay.

16. I went to a 12:30 ASU-USC game

last Saturday and 68,000 people showed up. It has more to do with the Cardinal's record over the last 10 seasons then the weather, but afternoon games in the heat are not fun unless you are sitting under the press box where you have shade.

I was reminded of that when we foolishly took my folks up on their invitation to hit the Cards-Packers game a couple weeks ago. We were in town to celebrate the In-Laws 40th anniversary. I was in air conditioning. I could have stayed there. What is wrong with us?

...but the Metrodome only seats 64,121. That's why we're number 22 on that list. The Vikes have sold out 42 consecutive regular season home games at this point. That's pretty damn good, IMO.

but the skins have sold out every home game since 1972. a friend just got off the waitlist for tickets this season. his father put him on the day he was born. he's 28. and they added 10,000 seats when they built FedEx last decade. otherwise he'd still be less than halfway up the board.

I know for a fact Redskins have had lots of bad record seasons and I seriously doubt they sold out the last home game of the season when they had a dismal season. I am not calling you a liar but I have my doubts, I don't the Redskins have sold out everygame since 1972.

the waiting list for season tickets, the only kind offered, is about 30 years, as the above mention story indicates, and has been that long for as long as i can recall. and i'm pretty sure that goes back farther than '72.

even when the 'skins are bad, it is the hottest ticket in town.
