Song(s) that you can't stop playing
Edited on Sat Feb-12-05 07:52 PM by Revolutionary_Acts04
I'm obsessed with with a couple songs right now.

"Walking With A Ghost" - Tegan and Sara.
"Black Sky" - Sam Phillips. (thank you progmom! :D)
"Over The Rainbow" - Israel Kamakawio'ole.
"Golden Touch" - Razorlight.
"The World At Large" - Modest Mouse.

What your song(s) do you just love at the moment?

Edited for typo.

1. hmmmmmm that Lay Lady Lay by Dylan song and that shalalaha song
that Veronica sings to you. Am I weird if I like making up my own lyrics to songs, I dont fall for guys so I change the lyrics in the songs to be about women, She sure aint the girl I dreamed of but she sure is the girl I love , I heard that song in Goodfellas btw.

4. i'm obsessed with a band right now
just can't stop listening to them, just found about them a little over a month ago. VNV Nation, the cool guys in my sig.

The songs by them that i listen to most right now are Honour and Genesis - i keep going through phases with a few songs. I guess I am just fully absorbing each of them, one by one.

i am so glad i found them.......it's like i've been waiting for them....or they've been waiting for me.....or something like that :loveya:

well, don't drop some E, read the lyrics instead.

and then bow to them :D

i still think a lot of people on DU would love their lyrics, even if they didn't like the music. a lot of the songs are kind of about war, the future of humanity, etc....

19. Streetlight Manifesto!
An awesome band if you like ska/punk. THey aren't typical ska, there arent many upbeats but their horn section is AMAZING. Here is a free sample Mp3:

saw them live here about a week ago. killer show.

Do you listen to Blue Meanies, Big D at all?
^^other ska bands I like

Another kickass band that everyone should listen to- Dillinger Four. Catchy pop-punk but not with whiny vocals and really intelligent and political lyrics.

20. One More Day/The Funeral
Sung by Sinead O'Connor. It's from the soundtrack of the movie "Veronica Guerin". Haunting, lyrical, spiritual (in the best sense of the word). Gives me goosebumps.....

43. Actually it is two versions of the same song
One More Day is the English version, The Funeral is the Gaelic version. Both are stunning. There is also a song by a 10 year old boy which was recorded in a Dublin alley, believe it or not. The boy was a street musician, the producer of the movie had heard him a year earlier and never forgot him. He sang traditional Irish music. there is such raw power in his voice, hard to believe in a child so young. This is a child from the street, with the street wisdom.
I really believe that Sinead O'Connor does best with more traditional Irish music. I don't really care for her pop stuff, but I just love her traditional Irish music.

Here's a review:

The Arcade Fire are from Montreal, and I believe The Mountain Goats (who are really this one guy named John Darnielle) are from somewhere in the northwest: Portland, perhaps. Both are amazing.
