Back in the saddle again

Got out on my road bike today and I can't describe how great it felt to back out riding. I've lost a couple of months of training because my life and house are in a bit of flux right not, but I was happy with my ride.

I'm certainly not ready for a century, but I did get up to 21.6 mph on a straightaway. :-)

I've already planned a season of rides, with two big challenges thrown in. I'm doing a weeklong tour in Wisconsin of about 500 miles. And, depending on how strong I feel after that, I'm thinking of doing the one-day ride across the width of Indiana. You get 12 or 14 hours, can't remember which, to make it 158 miles. It's a timed event, but I would be thrilled to just finish.

Do you have a sport or hobby that you enjoy so much that you're thrilled when you can pursue it again?

5. It's been a while for me - but I could dust off the old

Cannondale and see what I can muster! I still think a DU RAGBRAI team could kick some serious ass!

awesome! Is it too late for this year? Team DU - beer slides at 9:15 in the a.m.???? Pedaling 80 miles a day - I think we could do this!

We could give the killer bees and team bad boy a run for their money!

8. Well, this year

would be out for me. I had to schedule my vacations way in advance. I would definitely be up for next year, so get training. :-)
