I'm in Peoria, Illinois! The friendliest city in the USA!
Its true, Peoria is a friendly place. I love the Midwest and Midwesterners. Peoria is the 4th city in the state of the 2nd city (some say Chicago is Number 3 after LA!) whatever it is.. I think the "being somewhere in the middle" has something to do with it.

From The Mark Twain Hotel in downtown Peoria, Illinois : America's friendliest place!

3. That's not the question. I'm talking about friendly people.
Yes, kindof in decay. Off the beaten path.

5. Yes...people from central Illinois are very friendly, IMO.
But I'm prejudiced...since I was born and raised in Decatur, Illinois...just about 60 miles away from Peoria. :-)

8. My girlfriend was raised in Mt. Zion.
She's sitting right here. :)

She says Mt. Zion preppy folks are really good folks, just misguided.

10. Ah, Mt. Zion.
:-) All of the folks in that area are ok. They're decent, down to earth people.

11. I lived in Peoria for 2 years and was mugged 7 times,...
...had my apartment robbed twice, my new Car stolen and trashed, my Dog shot with a .22...
Also, I had (several times) complete strangers spit on me as I was walking downtown, nearly knocked down and cussed at for being a Democrat.
