I really want to go to the U of M in here in the Twin Cities, but I am not sure if I will get in. My freshman year of high school I had about a 2.0 GPA. Sophomore year probably about a 2.8. This year I have had a 3.5 GPA each quarter and am enrolled in AP American Studies. Senior year I have a great lineup of classes I will like- Sociology, Psychology, Minority Studies, Community Service, AP Literature and Composition. I am heaviliy involved in school band stuff (I am a band geek) and contribute to the school paper now and then. I volunteered with the Wisconsin Dem party this summer
I always get As in Social Studies, history, and government classes, but am lucky to get a C in Science or Math. I just HATE math and science. They seem like arbitrary processes teaching us how to organize information and not how to apply it in the real world, unlike English or Social Studies classes which I LOVE. (I am a pretty good writer if I may say so myself)
I want to go to the U and major in Political Science and minor in History. I know I will be able to excel in those areas, but getting to the U will be a problem.
Help! I am worried about my future!
EDIT: Oh, I forgot that I took a practice ACT test and my projected score was 28-32. I always do well on standardized tests.
