I am listening to Black Sabbath right now, with Alice in Chains, Audioslave, Tool and Foo FIghers coming up.

I love this effin' station.

:headbang:

Is there a radio station you love?

3. We have the same taste - great!
I listen to 103.3 WRZX in Indy. Plays most of what I like when I listen to it. Every Sunday night they have "Mandatory Metallica" and play all kinds of stuff that is never played on the radio, especially old Metallica. I try to never miss it!

6. Old Metallica on the air?
Wow.

This station, 98X in Charleston plays "For Whom the Bell Tolls" every now and then, and "Master" sometimes, and "One" - which is a great surprise every time it comes on, but I've never heard anything from "Kill 'Em All" on this station. Still, no compaints.

Hard Rock/Metal is pretty popular here. Radio sucked before this, tho we did have an alt station that still plays that lineup. But the station I listen to plays all the good stuff out of that too, well the good hard stuff.

They give away free beer on Fridays too.

8. And you wanna know something weird?
I think they are owned by Clear Channel! The DJ's are pretty vile, well as much as they can be and still get away with it. I can't decide if CC keeps this one as a loss to write off or what. Anyway, it is definitely the best station in the middle of Freeperland (also known as Indiana). :D

10. 98X isn't clear channel, but the new Air America channel (AM) is CC -
even weirder, eh?

5. Yep! They even say "Proud to NOT be Clear Channel owned and operated"
about every third commercial break.

9. WXPN!
Alternative rock public radio station here in Philly. I love it so much someone once guessed I listened to them just by looking at my CD collection.

11. Q98 and 104.7 The Dam (for new rock)
Edited on Sun Feb-13-05 12:14 AM by SmileyBoy
Even though The Dam is ClearChannel, it still plays a lot of the music I like. I know it's owned by the evil corp., but I really like it. Q98 is the station owned by a smaller company. Ironically, it seems that the ClearChannel-owned one (The Dam) has been playing more obscure, non-corporate songs than Q98. The Dam plays a LOT more Rage Against The Machine, System Of A Down, Soundgarden, etc. Q98 plays too much of the bands that I really don't like (3 Doors Down, Three Days Grace, etc).

12. Nope.
I've turned to internet radio more and more. Not only for AAR, but for music.

We have a classical station here (WWR) but they run so many commercials, it gets really annoying.

I also have a guilty pleasure, Art Bell on the weekends. But the evil KLIF (that station with the horrible billboards you may have seen in other posts) runs it here and the commercials/promos during the breaks are so annoying I want to smash my radio.

Internet radio is best. <sigh>

13. 107.1 The Breeze
Edited on Sun Feb-13-05 12:35 AM by njdemocrat106
WWZY Long Branch, NJ. They play pop/rock/R+B hits of the 70s and 80s (with a smidgen of the 60s and smattering of the 90s for good measure). They used to be a more soft station (they played ABC's satellite "Unforgettable Favorites"), but now that they're local, the variety is much, much, better. And the best part is, the overnights are commercial free!

15. I used to request Bartok on our local classical station
And they almost always played his stuff. Usually something from Symphony No. 2, which I enjoy greatly.
