I think I'm losing my mind...
Edited on Sun Feb-13-05 05:07 AM by Scooter24
Tonight I had dinner with my parents and a few friends of theirs who happen to be JAG lawyers. To my surprise, after I finished my dessert I was actually sold on joining the JAG corps. These men were actually very nice and sincere and understood my situation.

Now if only that pesky "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy was thrown out, I'd be all over it.

3. when i was in the Air Force
no one gave a crap about gays in the military; they were everywhere, everyone knew it and no one cared. That was in the 70's - I think when the Reagan era brought in the era of poking into private lives

5. I don't know about that

I was at Langley AFB in the 70's when Leonard Matlovich was tried.

of course, he did rather insist on it.

6. sure there were some prosecutions
but I just don't think it was that big an issue back then. However, I worked in Personal Affairs and discouraged the guys coming in requesting General Discharges because they were gay - I advised them not to do it, just stick it out and get an Honorable. They all did take my advice and I have received a few emails 30 years later thanking me. :)
