Hit and run story I wanted to share with you.
Edited on Sun Feb-13-05 02:11 PM by Cascadian
I know the world is full of sad stories but I felt compelled to share this with all of you.

This is an example of how some people can be messed up. On Wednesday here in Seattle, a girl was run over by some asshole who never should have been given a driver's license. It was a hit and run. The guy who did this just drove away. Here is the story....http://www.komotv.com/stories/35242.htm

Apparently, this girl does not have insurence and her medical bills are going to be outrageous. She is a singer in a band and of course you already know artists and musicians aren't known to carry insurence. When I get paid on Thursday, I am going to donate money. She has had a trust fund set for her at Washington Mutual Bank I hope you all will try to too! Here is some info on her band too....http://www.fearofdolls.com/

Here is some info I have picked up on how you can help. You can donate money to her fund at any Washington Mutual Bank branch on the West Coast, The fund is called "In Benefit of Bonni Suval". The fund account number is #1003130148.

Thanks for your time.

John

3. Hit and Run Drivers
This is sad to hear, I hope she get's help, (and good therapy).
I was plowed off the highway (north of Seattle) by a hit and run driver, the witnesses behind me chased the guy at 90 miles per hour but could not get close enough to read his license plate, so they turned around and went back to the scene. I believe it was 8 cars that pulled over when they saw what happened. But the discriminating, incompetent State Trooper refused to investigate, quoted a witness to the press who did not have a clear view of the incident ("4 or 5 cars behind") instead of the witnesses that saw the whole thing, falsified the report, and more. (Because my passenger was black, per chance?)
What's with drivers in western Washington?

4. They're all from other states. And they refuse to learn the laws here
so they are all driving by other states' laws. Plus they're arrogant selfish assholes. But that's true of any place here in the states. not just Washington. If you had a problem with a State Trooper, you should have reported it to the Washington State Patrol, and the media.

5. I Did File A Complaint Against The Trooper
But a friend convinced me to drop the issue due to the danger of retaliation. Being a single mom at the time, I felt I should at least try to live long enough to raise my son, so I dropped it.
Actually, the H&R driver was from the area, because I got part of his license plate, (the first time he tried to make me wreck, several minutes before he plowed me). The letters on his plate were issued in that region.
And thank you for the advice, miss_kitty.
I forgot to mention, I highly recommend hydro-therapy for this recent H&R victim.

6. If you cannot be able to file a complaint against a police officer...
then there is a serious problem with how law enforcement is handling their own personnel. First of all, the code of silence and this "secret brotherhood" type business must be be stopped. I firmly believe in transparency and accountability in our police. They should also do a better job at screening their recruits as well. You still get some thugs getting badges.

Just thought I would drop in my two cents.

I agree, totally. Hence, my organization, The CAI - Coalition Against Injustice. My injustice via racist, corrupt State Trooper is the LEAST of my worries. Things are worse than most people will ever realize.

8. I'm saying that they aren't FROM here
they may be residents now, but dollars to donuts, I'll betcha their state of origin was NY, NJ, CA, MN, MI, VA and etc. and that's where they drove for years before they got here. And even though they've been here for years, they have that attitude "Well, that's not how we do it in ____." Or they don't bother to even acknowledge that things are different here.

I should have said also that I was sorry for the experiences you had, both the H&R AND the poor police work. I think your friend's paranoia was a little much, BUT I understand, you have to think of your child. I am as suspicious of the cops as the next person (at least the next person who IS suspicious of cops), but that makes me want to be more vocal about the mishandling of any given situation. And I have been. And I'm still here. well, so far, anyway :). But I was not present at your incident, and sometimes I know there's stuff you can't put into words that may stop you from choosing that particular fight.

9. True, Miss_Kitty
Thank you, that's a nice post. I'm sure the H&R driver was originally from "tar-heel" country or somewhere, (quote self-proclaimed tar-heels from the south, so no offense!). The driver was obviously racist, too. (Not just the Trooper).
There's a lot I do not disclose about the incident, and it was far worse than what I explained, including the Troopers response and his racism. My "paranoid" friend died mysteriously at a young age, so I don't know if he was over-reacting at the time. But since then, I've learned so much more about corruption and malfeasance, I believe him whole-heartedly. And it's SAD. I used to have total faith in LE and our "justice system" and thought the corruption was rare. Maybe it used to be. I no longer have faith in the system, but it isn't because of what happened to me, rather from what I've witnessed others going through.
I do know a few upright LE that are heroes, though, and I commend and appreciate them.

10. Yeah.. I'm sorry I referred to your pal as paranoid
i think what I meant was that I FELT the warning was somewhat paranoic. Not that your friend was paranoid-however I do not believe paranoia precludes activity that justifies that icky feeling.

I have a friend who works in LE and once I said "A few rotten apples that spoil the bunch"-she corected me and said "Oh no! There's only a few that aren't rotten. The bunch is generally bad."
