Well I guess it still is? They aren't devoiced, my dad passed away in 1996. I better go ask my mom if she's OK. *sigh*

11. Yeah it was....... surreal
I was only 10. I think his death bothers me more now though. At the time I was worried about my mom more then his death, she was so devastated. Luckily my brother was there too.

But now it bothers me because I realize what I missed out on. My brother was two months shy of 20 so he had lots of time with him and, like I said, I was only 10. :(

But that's life. *sigh*

12. May I ask, how did he die?
I cant possibly relate at all having both parents still with me but I did lose an uncle at a very young age to a tragic dose of alcoholism and heroin, I was only one, none of my brothers were alive yet, and the sad part of it now is I always think of my mom as an only child when she wasn't. Sigh. He was my name sake too and a fellow left handed dark thick haired dude :(.

13. Yeah
He had a heart attack. Very sudden, he was there and then he wasn't. That always made my mom a little happy after he was gone, that it was very quick for him.

It's a day I will never, ever forget. :(

16. I am sorry
Tough way to go. When I was 14-15 on a summer night, my dad told me basically the untold story of my Uncle Barry, it was really tragic honestly. I don't even know why I touch alcohol honest to god knowing my family history but I do know I will never touch heroin. Sigh, really am sorry that you lost your dad, no one should lose their parents that young.

18. I am too sigh
Mom never talks about her brother, I am like most people, I have some in common with my dad, I have some in common with my mom, I think I got my mom's engimatic qualities, I think personally I am hard to understand truly to the max. There's a picture of him holding me as a baby sigh, its just sad really, I lost my great aunt Helen the same year.

22. It is
I am remembering my godmother's death now, I am very lucky Kate though, one of my favorite books was given to me by her to borrow, and after she died, I decided to keep that, it is without a doubt one of the most beautiful, touching books Ive ever read, sigh maybe I am prejudiced because my ancestor is featured in it and he's killed, but it really is moving. I know you read a lot of fantasy but read this book. Oh and you know how we were talking about wishing we weer in different spots yesterday, I often wish I could be in the past with the heroes of the past. This is the book btw.

The man whose hands you only see is my distant relative who was later killed in the battle of Iwo Jima, he's a personal hero of mine, if you should read that book, I think you will come to admire all of those guys but I have a special place in my heart for Sgt Mike Strank.

29. Yep
I admit it as a history nerd, I am always using the past as a reference, I guess that makes me sort of conservative, but hey its not like I am for limiting people's freedoms, I am just somewhat traditional yet new age in others, I am a walking contradiction, quick tempered but soft spoken for instance :).

5. Last July 28 would have been my parent's 50th.
Dad died in 2000. I called Ma and aked her if she was allright and she just wanted to be left alone that day, and asked me to call her back the next day.
Damn! I miss my Dad. A liberal news-journalist that is rolling around in his grave because of what our media has become.

My Dad would have been 88, my Mom 86. I used to think they got married because they had the same birthday:-) Quick edit--They were Valentine's Day babies.

and to think I didnt realize she was only a year and a half older than me until fairly recently. I havent been able to talk to the person who has comforted me when Ive had problems in the past since said person has been busy, Rev has really been key in helping me out the past couple weeks, and I mean that, knows how to make me laugh and knows how to get to my serious side, and yes I do have one :).
