Anyone remember the 1990 film HIDDEN AGENDA with Frances McDormand?
Edited on Sun Feb-13-05 05:55 PM by NightTrain
I saw the film when it first came out, in a tiny theater in Northampton, Masscahusetts. Hadn't thought about it in years, but for some reason, HIDDEN AGENDA popped into my head this afternoon.

Just wondering if anyone else around here ever saw it?

When an American human rights lawyer is assassinated in Belfast, it remains for the man's girlfriend, as well as a tough, no nonsense, police detective to find the truth... which they soon discover to be contained in an audio tape the man had with him, exposing political manipulations at the highest levels of government. But such underlying agendas require careful considerations to avoid worse things than murder.

1. The late '80s had quite a few British conspiracy thrillers like this
Another one I can remember is Defence of the Realm. And the current state of things does tend to bring them to mind, certainly.

2. Thought I had, but was confusing it with Defence of the Realm.
But Ken Loach is one of my favourites. I ought to see it.

3. Yes! Amazing film.
I didn't connect Frances McDormand with that film as she became more well-known, though.
