For basically the same amount reported and deductions than last year?

2. Well, I'm getting a couple of hundred
dollars more this year than last, but that's because I made less having been laid off for a few months last year. I plan to give some of it to a couple of charities in this area that have really been hurting.

3. Slightly less..
I was able to upgrade to 1040 with turbo tax for 20 bucks so I could itemize my 401k contribution which upped my refund by 50 bucks. So I spent double to use the 1040 instead of the 1040ez online to score an extra fifty. Still the refund has gone steadily down over the last 3 years.

4. With the increases in the tax rates for the middle class...
I think it's safe to say that most of us here are paying more. I know I am.

5. Less refund...
Edited on Sun Feb-13-05 09:22 PM by LaPera

While paying a lot more in federal taxes for the same amount of income and deductions.

Equaling a big net lost for me from last year.

The Bush tax cuts, where are they?

7. uh well
My income has fallen a bit but because of a screw-up where I overpaid that I still can't figure out...I am getting a HUGE refund. Where did I even find the money to make that quarterly payment? It is close to one-eighth of my annual income. And the thing is, I now remember doing it...vaguely.

Alcohol is a hell of a drug.

But it is kind of cool to be getting that much money back.

and other subversives. We intend to clean them out,
even if it means rounding up every birdwatcher in the country.

8. A lot less
but I retired last year, pulled out some money out of my annuities, and did not deduct taxes from SS. Funny thing though, SS never gave me a W2. If it was not for SS I would receive more money back.

9. About $200 Less
Because, for a time, I had to work a newspaper route to make ends meet.

Bastards pay on a 1099.

So I had to pay my own Social Secuirty taxes on what I'd earned, as well as the newspaper company's share of it (since I was technically "an independent contractor.") And I had to pay all Federal Taxes on it, too.

So, thanks to the fact I could find no other means of subsistence for two months...and because I made a lousy $1680 for two months of working seven days a week, dragging my ass up at 2:30 AM to do a job not even fit for convicts...my Fedderal Tax Refund went down from what it woulda been...$896...down to $520.

Last year, I got about $700 back.

Yeah, they don't pick on the poor, though...do they??

They only took damn near 25 PERCENT of the shit wages I made doing the newspaper route! I made $1688 at it...and they taxed me the difference of 896 - 520, or $376!!

$1688 divided by 4, or 25% of that amount, is $422. The Federal Government taxed me damn near 25% to do a shit job not fit for convicts, because I wasn't good enough for a REAL JOB!!! Thanks a lot, asshole Bush!!

FUCK YOU, GEORGE W. BUSH!!!
