I saw some former co-workers in a TV show about prisons today
It was "The Big House" series, on the History Channel, I think. This episode was about Kentucky State Penitentiary. It's not a fun place to be. It opened on Christmas Eve 1886. There are usually between 850 and 900 inmates, of which all but a few are maximum security inmates, including 40+ on Death Row.

Let's just say it was interesting to watch and I'm damned glad I don't work there anymore.

3. LOL. Guards and admin types.
Although there are a few on staff that need to be on the other side of the fence. Ask me someday in a less public forum what asses the current warden and his immediate predecessor are/were.

Here's a taste: the previous warden used to teach the inmates karate when he was the yard officer. That's just what we needed. Already outnumbered 30 to 1 at any given time on the yard, so this jerk teaches them better ways to kick our asses.

4. So do the nurses at Eddyville.
The inmates there treat them like minor deities. God help the con that hurts or insults a nurse at KSP. His life wouldn't be worth a broken shoelace on the walk.

7. You got it....!
Let us not forget the CO's....they adore us too. Nurses have it great. Where else can a nurse handcuff the patient?
