Albuquerque off to wettest start of year since 1913 |

Those of you from back East will look at our rain totals and be amazed at how little we get here.
... Albuquerque sunport starting off to a wet year in 2005...
As noted before... last month was the wettest January on record since 1931 at the Albuquerque international sunport... with 1.38 inches of precipitation. The all time record was 2.52 inches set back in 1916. See January monthly records below.
Ten wettest January months records since 1931 -------------------------- 1. 2005 with 1.38 inches 2. 1978 with 1.32 inches 3. 1941 with 1.17 inches 4. 1983 with 1.10 inches 5. 1979 with 1.07 inches 6. 1962 with 1.01 inches 7. 1993 with 0.94 inches 8. 1935 with 0.91 inches 9. 1974 with 0.88 inches 1977 with 0.88 inches
For February 2005... the Albuquerque sunport has received 0.84 inches of rainfall so far for the month. If the Airport does not record any more precipitation in February... it will be the ninth wettest month on record since 1931. See February monthly records below.
Ten wettest February months records since 1931 --------------------------- 1. 1993 with 1.82 inches 2. 2004 with 1.17 inches 3. 1964 with 1.12 inches 4. 1978 with 1.02 inches 2003 with 1.02 inches 6. 1986 with 1.01 inches 7. 1975 with 0.99 inches 8. 1968 with 0.98 inches 9. 2005 with 0.84 inches *precipitation total for the month so far. 10. 1983 with 0.71 inches
** all time wettest February was back in 1863 with 2.52 inches.
Two daily precipitation records were set in the month of January as well as the month of February with records dating back to 1931. 2005 has been the wettest start to any year... using the first 43 days of the year as a reference.

They have had 3.13 for the year so far. I don't know if that is their best start or not.
