I'm not a big fan of PETA, but greatful for this information about IAMS
http://www.iamscruelty.com/

I'm trying to do right by both my conscious and my pets by using only cat food that is "Blue" and of cruelity free. I've sucessfully switched my cats from Nutro Products (CEO is a bigtime Repuke contributor including Bush) to Royal Canin (French based) and even Evita is eating more dry food. But they still like their treat of wet food everyday (which is usually splitting one can between them.

My cats refuse to eat any wet cat food that isn't in some form of "chunky" style and I noticed that Iams now had "chunky" style wet food in pouches so I tried them.

Well, while posting in LBN I noticed that someone had a link about Animal Cruelty done at Iams laboratory. When I saw that I started tearing up. I can't believe a pet food place would do such horrible things to the very animals they are suppose to be helping.

Now I find it challenging for a pet food company to not do animal testing (I mean, how do we know if the animals like the food), but they should be doing this in a humane manner.

Although I've had issues with PETA on other aspects, I'm glad they were able to get the dirt on Iams.

2. I am surprised you just now discovered this information.
It's been on every animal rights and rescue board for over a year now. I have been boycotting Iams for quite some time.

3. I usually don't read those boards
I'm a meat eater and I am sometimes challenged by their attitude towards those of us who choose to eat meat and god forbid - eat meat that was actually killed by hunting (my family has several Deer Hunters in it).

I try to make an effort to use products that aren't tested on animals or use free-range organic products (my regular grocery story sells chicken like that). So no, I was not aware. However, I never used Iams until yesterday when I bought those packets - so Iams had made whatever profit they got off that $5.99 box of 12 food pouches.

And that's all they'll get

4. Innova and California Natural (Naura Pet Products)
use organic, all natural ingredients, and are based in Sana Clara, CA. You can find it at the Vet's office or in pet specialty stores. It doesn't have any of the crappy additives of commercial pet food.

5. I've had good luck with Royal Canin
Which is based out of France. But maybe I'll try this company's canned food for my cats!
