Happy Aniversary to my cat Evita!!!

She officially joined my household 1 year ago today. She acts like she hates all people but at night she jumps on my bed insisting that I brush her!

I got her from the Animal Humane Sanctuary in DE (a wonderful home for homeless cats) and she had just gotten fixed a few days earlier. I was actually going to adopt another cat but that other cat wouldn't come out from hiding so I took Evita instead. She was so tiny and a little underweight (turns out she was preggers when they rescued her). But a year later she has turned into the most beautiful cat imaginable! She'll always act a little ferral but I could leave my door wide open and she wouldn't run out. Vet estimated her to be about 3 years old.

sigh. at least Sybil isn't QUITE as big.

3. She's only 9lbs

But doc says she's just built small. Whereas Abbott is like 15.5lbs. Although they aren't very good at sharing they have no problem sharing the food dish!

evolving relationship with her. Many thanks for the smiles you cat posts and pictures bring to us. Many thanks for talking up the joy a shelter adoptee can bring to a household.

Ol Smudge brought me joy for 21 years. Hoping you and Evita have such a good, long time to love life together!
