Hey Vegans/Vegetarians, does Jell-O count as meat?
I'm making some for the kids now.

I also wonder if it's kosher.

I think it counts as meat
since most gelatin is from animal sources......we just had this discussion about Altoids, which also contain gelatin. :)

11. Oh my god that's gross!
I haven't eaten in Jell-O for years, mainly because I didn't know what that strange stuff was that never compltely soldified. My stomach turns at all of the Jell-O I ate as a kid.

Note: I'm not a vegetarian, but that just got me!

3. Not vegetarian and probably not kosher

Gelatin (used to make Jell-o and other desserts) is made from the boiled bones, skins and tendons of animals

4. I don't believe it's kosher
but there is, or was, some alternative product called Ko-Jel. A friend told me about this years ago.

8. What I don't understand abut vegans...
is why they pronounce the word as if it were spelled "veegan."

What, do they only eat veegtables?
