A new level of unfunny: Ron Freakin' White
Edited on Mon Feb-14-05 02:06 PM by Richardo

Where the f*ck did this idiot come from and why does ANYONE think he's funny? Sat through a painfully unfunny 'show' of his on Comedy Central on Saturday and didn't even smile once. I guess smoking and drinking scotch is supposed to be the funny part.

It's not.

1. Gotta disagree with you
Bitter, yes. Misanthropic, yes. But unfunny? My SO and I think he's a riot. His take on flying out of a dinky airport in a tiny plane is hysterical -- "...out of the Flagstaff Airport, Hair Care, and Tire Center". And when he says he might engage in some bad behavior "It's not unlikely. I've seen me do it."

He doesn't hit 100% (some of his stuff is just WAY too crude to be funny to me) but when he hits, he hits. And he uses the smoking and drinking as a comic timing thing.

Well, as they always say, YMMV

average redneck stereotype.

5. Me, too.
It's Larry the Cable Guy who's not funny. Ron White is great.

6. Yes! I guess I'm just not wired for that humor.
Larry the Cable Guy either :wtf: is funny about that guy?

Now Hee-Haw. THERE was blue-collar humor! :D

8. I could see my own family and life experiences in the blue collar jokes
that made it all the more funny.

The story about being thrown out of the bar in New York was an absolute riot!

10. Nuh uh.
:D

That's the one that clinched it for me. He's a worse story-teller than Colin Quinn :scared:

13. I didn't see this guy...
I've studiously avoided the 'blue collar' crap since seeing Larry the Cable Guy (not my idear of funny... at all).

Your comparison to the stammering, stuttering Colin Quinn makes me think I made the right decision not watching this weekend.

12. But that is like all he has
Unfortunately that is like the only joke he has.

It is a great story and is very funny, but it is his whole act.

11. Thought the first one was better
I watched the blue collar comedy tour returns ( or whatever it was called ) last night.

I thought the first one was better. I found Ron White and Larry the cable guy to be a little repetive. I think a lot of the jokes they told were repeats from the first show.

I can see how this type of show wouldn't be for everybody, but that is why they have differant chanels. Don't like it don't watch.

I do think Comedy Central is getting a little carried away with the whole blue collar thing. It seems like they show Jeff Foxworthy and friends like ALL the time. And now they have a Jeff Foxworthy roast coming up. They definately are going to just run with this until they run it into the ground aren't they.

Although, the first Blue Collar tour was better than the second one.

25. I saw part of his show on Comedy Central
He wasn't great, wasn't the worst. There were a couple of things that were sort of funny, but the rest was so-so. He did kinda seem like a dick. That was my impression. I only saw part of it though. Maybe there were some funnier parts I missed.

29. I think you've got something there - 'comedians who are dicks'
Denis Leary, Colin Quinn, Jim Brewer, Andrew Dice Clay, etc.

That's it alright: I just don't think dicks are very funny.

Thanks Strawman! :D:thumbsup:
