It seems like my iPod only runs 3 or 4 hours per charge. Is this normal? Also, should I charge it up after each time I use it or should I let the battery run all the way down?

on the apple website if you go to "help" for ipod, there is some stuff about battery life. Articles about making your battery last longer and things like that. You might find an answer there. I love my ipod!

Just kidding. I've had mine for slightly over a year. It doesn't hold a charge as long now as it did before. I probably get about 3-4 hours per charge as well, but I don't listen to it in 3-4 hour blocks. I usually get 3-4 runs (30-50 minutes) out of it before I have to re-charge.

My Ipod runs that long as well.
They claim 12 hours or something ludicrous. I only get 5 at most, maybe 6 if i don't touch it

do what you can with it. Do check out Apple's help site, and check Macintouch for tips on it and all things Mac-related.
And enjoy the hell out of it! :D

Or you can take it into the Apple store and they'll replace it for something like $80.

iPod mini? The latest iPod? How long have you had it?
The latest iPod has a good track record as far as battery life, as opposed to previous generations. 3-4 hours certainly isn't acceptable, I suggest you take it to your nearest Apple Store and have them take a look at it.

but I'm estimating how long it holds a charge. I'll have to keep a log and see exactly how long it lasts. I got it right before Christmas.
