Well, I'll never forget this Valentine's Day...
It all started about 7 this morning. Will is partially deaf, and sometimes what he hears isn't what's exactly happening. He told me that he heard a strange hissing noise from the kitchen. Could it be rain? No, in fact, what he was hearing was a pin-hole leak in the cold water pipes.

I got a bouquet of 40 multi-colored tulips, a potted hyacinth, and a box of chocolates from Will, but I'll always remember this Valentine's Day for the $200 repair bill we got from the plumber.

At least you found it before it was much worse, and much more expensive!

4. I guess it's good it wasn't over the weekend, or 10 PM at night
Will stayed home to deal with it, but I had to leave work for a couple of hours and go home too.

5. Shocked homeowner to plumber upon seeing bill for late-night repair:
"My God! I'm a heart surgeon and I don't make this kind of money."

Plumber: "Yeah, when I was a heart surgeon I didn't either."

6. You must have old pipes. Leaks happen.

Will sounds very thoughtful, though. :D

7. Well look on the bright side, you got some nice flowers
and that plumbing problem could have been much worse. when my house was built the plumber "forgot" to put a wax ring in before he installed the toilet---you can only imagine the damage.

11. of course it wasn't because it was my house
anybody else's house it would have been on the ground floor. the bathroom in question is directly above the laundry room and the closet that moster's live in under the the stairs. So the laundry room walls and ceilings along with the closets had to be ripped out, i also had my hvac system scrubbed down as well. did i mention this was all going on 1 week before Christmas?
