1. same here
Although my new sunglasses apparently make me look cool, too, according to her.

1985 is a good song, though.

6. I find myself liking that song a lot. The last thing I ever bought that my
daughter said was cool, was a pair of shoes that pinched my feet. :hi:

2. You're still cool - I have it on very good authority!
Besides, you're younger than me, so you must be cool - otherwise, I too am not cool - and we can't be having that - ya know?

4. I think I am saved by the fact that I don't have a yellow SUV. I have
a blue Pacifica. ;) We are our own brand of coolness.

5. I relate to that song.
1985 was my favorite year. (Never had a miniskirt made of snakeskin, though.)

However, I take comfort in thinking that 20 years from now the little snot-nosed brats who sing that song will be the subject of a song about how they're preoccupied with 2005. The worm turns and turns again ...

My daughter just saw Pretty in Pink and the Breakfast Club and is now in love with Molly Ringwald (her mom was the spitting image of Molly, and she wll be soon, I believe).
