Did anyone here ever meet one of the Beatles?
While we're doing the who did you meet famous threads. Seems no one ever mentions them. My neighbor met Lennon in NY once, shortly before his assassination. Said he was as warm and friendly as you could ever hope.

How about you guys? Anyone have a story to share?

3. I met Paul when I was living in London for a short period.
At the BBC. Seemed nice, but a bit stand-offish. The two I really wanted to meet are now gone.

NGU.

4. Never met any.
John died 2 months after I was born. I came to love their music after college. I cried not too long ago when I realized that both John and George were gone. It finally sunk in.

5. my neighbor said Lennon was as you'd expect

he was waiting for the light to change and suddenly realized john was standing next to him. naturally, he freaked out.

john noticed the look on his face and gave him a wink and evantually started talking to him.

he ended up getting a pic out of the moment, which is his most prized posession.

he just gave me the negative and i'm taking it into the dark room to make him a better print soon.

6. My mother met Paul McCartney
Edited on Tue Feb-15-05 02:23 AM by shance
at a dinner honoring Gene Kelly years ago.

She didnt have any idea who he was until a friend told her. Mom then went over to him and got his autograph for all of us kids. What he wrote was very funny and Im sure indicative of his moments with my mother (she could talk).

My mother was not a regular in the Gene Kelly circuit*, she had a best friend from childhood who was a jet setter.

8. Met Paul in 1976,
at the L.A. county art museum of the King Tut Exhibit touring at that time. I was touring the exhibit with him and his family (Linda and kids) through a private tour thanks to tickets my mom got me at the time.

A really great guy and really attentive to his family. His kids were really young at the time.

9. I met Ringo.
Briefly, but we were alone, going down some stairs
and standing in an alley in West LA for a minute.
Him and his wife were at a meeting where I was. I
said, "Nice to see ya here." He said, "Nice to see
us anywhere!" You had to be there.
