Gooood Morning DU!
 How is everyone doing this morning? Hope everyone survived yesterday alright. Myself, well, let's just say that apparently Valentine's Day is the busiest day of the year for resteraunts. It was non-stop for four hours yesterday and my whole body is suffering for it today. :D But, that's the price to pay for money I suppose. All in all, not too shabby of a day, just thankful for what I do have, not what I don't.

:donut: So, wake up and tell me how you're day is going and how yesterday was.

1. Good Morning Blondie!
Yesterday was good. I made our "fancy dinner" on Sunday -Stir fried asparagus with shrimp and scallops with chocolate fondue for dessert.
Yesterday we exchanged cards and I got my wonderful wife some flowers-similar to what was in her wedding bouquet and some chocolate covered raspberries from a candy maker here in town.
She is still recovering from neck surgery (3 disks removed) so that was it for excitement.

Working in the service businesses on VD is a pain, too many years doing flowers to even think about getting back into that stuff.

Today will be productive.

2. Hey there!
Good to see ya this morning! Glad to hear that you all had a great VD! And thumbs up on the gifts, the flowers especially (because of the whole sentimental thing). Hope she continues to do well after her surgery as well!

And don't work TOO hard! :D

3. Hey, hey, hey!
Well let's hope that today is a bit smoother than the beginning of yesterday. Yesterday when I drove up into the parking lot of my school where I am an instructional specialist/administrator, a teacher was running out to me banging on my window saying frantically that I was needed....what a beginning. Everything worked out well and people were simply overreacting a bit, but the masta, me, solved all. ;)

12. Perhaps
If your job involves little creatures between the ages of 3-12, some deaf, some blind, some who are learning English, some who live below the poverty line, some from highly dysfunctional families, some who have absolutely wonderful families despite all the problems, some who have the best smiles in the world, some who will give you a hug no matter what, some who love coming to school to learn and some who will continue to visit you even after moving on to bigger things.

It really is a great job. Hate the pay though.

4. Chinese take-out and a chocolate cake!
That's all we needed. Too bad Mrs. IconCat and I still had to grade some exams.

Now, as usual, I must throw myself out the door and get to work. Today, fortunately, is a half-day for the students, so it will go quickly.

Have a good one!

Nothing bad in particular, but this morning has passed incredibly slowly. I'm still vaguely happy though - lunch in about half an hour. Paid less than no attention to Valentine's day.

Hope that today is less hectic for you.

That's not true. It was quiet, I did chores and watched documentaries. How do you feel after working. Is Feb. 14 that big a restaurant day?

Sounds like a pretty good, relaxing day! I would've liked to have the same. And let's just say, everything hurts. My legs, feet, arms (especially my arms, did WAAAAY too much lifting). Pretty much I feel like I've been run over or something. It was INSANE! But thanks for asking. :D

45. Nothing very exciting.....
I had some things to do at my Union office after work (I am treasurer for my Local), then it was off to Office Max for supplies, and then the Vet's office to pick up kitty food.

I did learn that I (and many other folks) are called "QuirkyAlones."
Yesterday was the first time I'd heard that term. Have you heard that before? I saw a segment on CNN's Anderson Cooper 360 last night. The term describes someone that's alone and is fine with that, but would also be fine with a relationship if one came along.

You learn something new everyday :)

49. Good afternoon!
It's 3 P.M. right now in Germany and I have to force myself to work today. Did some acquisition for freelance writing and photography before I went to my regular job this morning. After more than two years, I need to get out of my routine job. Any way, the pay sucks, just read a market survey and, according to this, my company is really screwing me. So I'm trying hard to get back into freelance work.

It's been snowing last night, but at this altitude it won't last. Not much of winter this year in the northern part of Germany.

No Valentine's Day for me - it's a non-issue in Germany, at least for my generation (late baby boomers).

Have a great day, all of you! :hi:
