I hate ladybeetles.
If you live in Minnesota or Wisconsin, you know what i'm talking about. THEY'RE EVERYWHERE. And there's so damn many of them! And, for some reason, they're all showing up now. GRRRR....They piss me off so much! Stupid suburban life...

Oh, not to mention the increase in box elder bugs and wasps around here...it's F&@#!&G driving me INSANE!

(Btw, a ladybeetle just flew up into my ceiling fan and was slammed into my back. That's why i'm posting this)

:nuke::nuke::nuke::nuke::nuke::nuke::nuke::nuke::nuke::nuke::nuke::nuke::nuke::nuke::nuke:

1. It is bad luck to kill a lady bug...if you kill a lady bug Swarzqwerpiuger
will become gropinator of CA...so just leave them lady bugs alone!!!

BTW..they are VERY healthy for a good garden...planted or wild..they are the aphid eaters. Leave them alone!!! Cold kills them you do not HAVE to!

2. ladybugs are great
they eat aphids, which destroy plants. they're also good luck, if you're a race car driver...

I have a lady bug house in my yard to give them a place to breed to make sure they get rid of garden pests.

show a little respect, please.... :)

3. They're not ladybugs
Edited on Tue Oct-07-03 07:44 PM by leftist_rebel1569
They're LADYBEETLES. There's a difference.

Edit: I know they eat aphids. But, by the time the cold weather comes, Aphids won't exist. There's so many of them, it's not funny.

6. the bees are really aggressive now..
and no fun. I was stung in the neck yesterday. it was obviously a vampire bee. I told my kids that on the full moon, I will now turn into a bee and make honey... or something.

4. We've got them all over the place in Ohio, too
My room mate and I were just noticing them. We're on the fourth floor of a dorm and we haven't had our window open and we've got about ten of the suckers flying around the light on the ceiling. We have no idea how they got in here.

5. I know!
You should see the screen for my window. just FILLED with them, and the occasional box elder or wasp. What sucks even more, is that they're getting in my house, somehow...

8. They are Asian painted beetles
and they eat aphids and ladybugs. They look a lot like ladybugs, but they are more voracious. Ladybugs are native species, while these beetles aren't. When they bite, they are usually probing for water. I read a long paper about these things because they are terrorizing our woods.

10. Yeah
I've heard different names for them, and "ladybeetle" stuck. There are two kinds, though...a chinese one (red in color) and a japanese one (orange in color).

And I haven't been bit yet....lucky me. :)

9. And they stink!
Smash one of them, and it smells bad.

There are poison things in the windows as a write this to kill them. They get under the siding and all come out at once. The wet/dry vac is awesome for grabbing them up by the thousands once they are dead.

Oh yeah, I know about these things. They suck.

11. And if you smash them,
they leave an orange residue. :scared:

Best way to deal with it, as you said, is to use a vacuum cleaner. In fact, I hear my mom downstairs using it right now...:)
