36. Link here - not much story
but why should that stop the MSM from pretending this is mega important?

http://www.courttv.com/home_news/index.html

This is the whole thing so far:

Hospitalized
Sources say Michael Jackson was taken to a hospital Tuesday morning while en route to the courthouse where jury selection was supposed to resume in his child molestation trial. Update soon.

2. This is not Latest Breaking News
In fact, it's not news at all.

Let's us here at DU make a pledge to not discuss the Michael Jackson Distraction Tour 2005 unless there is some nugget of genuine news involved.

Yesterday on NPR they had a whole report that amounted to nothing at all: people were trying not to be obvious as they craned their necks to get a glimpse of Jackson. New Value, Anyone?

If this isn't off-topic, I don't know what is.

Maybe I'm interpreting the rule wrong, but...

Rule #8:

Do not post frivolous or off-topic news stories. The moderators of the Latest Breaking News forum have the authority to act as news editors, and may remove news stories that they do not consider appropriate for this forum.

If Michael Jackson's situation is on-topic please explain what would be considered off-topic.

But I think it would get unruly with the many versions of the same article. The current method allows people to talk about what they want to talk about. I think it works quite well.

10. With more "witnesses" coming forward...
...it's not surprising that Jackson is experiencing problems.

I don't know what his issues are--or why he had to go to the hospital--but it appears that his decade-long covert pedophile actions are being outed by multiple sources.

Corey Feldman coming forward and revealing that Jackson showed him pornography--when Feldman was middle-school age--will be damaging. It sounds like Feldman is struggling with what he remembers and with issues surrounding his visits to Neverland.

The prosecution witness list was recently revealed--and I'm sure many of the names caused quite a reaction in Jackson.

It's really a devastating, heartbreaking situation all the way around. Jackson has reported throughout the years that he is "terrified" of his father, and still shakes when he is around him. The other Jackson have repeatedly reported the father's violent physical abuse.

I hope the truth surfaces in all of this. It's the only way the victims will get the help they deserve--and it's the only way Jackson will extricate himself from the fantasy land in which he lives--and start dealing with his own issues.

Honestly, I don't know whether he's guilty or not. I know he's f*cked up mentally, and that what the MSM has reported looks really bad for him. But I do NOT know he's guilty. And neither do you.

Late Breaking News has be something reported as of late. It must be breaking with information never known before. It also must be news, which unfortunately this is. :)

I also checked the Skinner rules, and it doesn't violate any of it except that he didn't post an article.

What a crock. We all feel stress. But stress is dependent on issues we cannot control versus issues we can control.

We usually can't control many forms of job or spouse loss.

We usually can control our sex drives.

(and, yes, I've resorted to generalizations for a reason...)
