1. John Wayne
There was nothing about that man that was real. He lived an image that was created for him. Exactly like Reagen.

2. How dare you criticize a war hero?
John Wayne personally won the Civil War, the Indian wars, the First World War, the Second World War, and Vietnam (though I tend to believe Rambo had more to do with winning that war... )

5. He was also one of the first Romans to recognize Jesus's divinity.
"Truly, this man was the son of God."

There's a story about that film (The Greatest Story Ever Told). Wayne had a cameo as the centurion, and only had one line. But he was delivering it with no emotion at all. The director told him, "Duke, say it with more AWE!"

So, on the next take, Wayne said, "Awwwww... Truly this man was the son of God."

6. John Wayne was a FAR better actor than Ronald Reagan
And it's not because Marion Morrison was such a wonderful actor, but because Ronnie couldn't act his way out of a wet paper bag.

Then again, Ronald Reagan was born Ronald Reagan. Maybe that counts for something.
