I bought it on Friday. I saw they had sugar-free chocolate bars, so I bought one of those and the CD.

Turns out the CD is pretty good. Modern, laid-back electronica featuring delirium, morcheeba and Shirley Bassey. Can't go wrong.

by T-Model Ford, an old time Mississippi Hill country Blues man. Its called "Bad Man". Pretty good too.

Have been in a phase lately of appreciating female vocalists of the 40s and 50s, my parents' music. Sarah and Ella are the greatest, but June Christy, Keely Smith, Carmen McRae, and many others have been fun to discover. Jo is similar to Rosemary Clooney in that she did a fair amount of silly novelty songs, but had an amazing voice and did some fine material. Still living AFAIK, in her late 80s now.

I got three the other day with a gift card I had from Christmas:

Byrds, Sweetheart of the Rodeo- already knew I liked it 'cause I had it on vinyl, but wanted the CD to listen to in the car and it has a lot of nice bonus tracks

John Lennon, Acoustic- it's OK; Plastic Ono Band is my favorite Lennon album so I figured this would be my kinda stuff. Sound quality's not great on several, and with quite a few of them you can tell why he left them in the vault, but it's still a pretty good listen.

Big Star, #1 Record/ Radio City- their first two albums on one CD. I got it 'cause I love the Raspberries and Badfinger and wanted to check out more seventies "power-pop." Just listened to it for the first time and thought it was pretty good; will take some listening to get to know the songs a little better.
