4. People on the west coast don't know this yet.
It may ruin the element of surprise.

13. It indicates at the page below, in essence, pointers
are a high energy breed and do not take kindly to isolation and lack of adequate exercise. Those are NOT bad traits for an physically active and experienced dog owner. But probably a lot to handle for a first timer and/or a couch potato. :-)

Edited on Tue Feb-15-05 11:36 PM by Ellen Forradalom
a French pointer breed called the Braque du Bourbonnais. He's smaller, about 40 lbs, but every bit as much a spaz as a German Shorthair.

22. He's a cutie :-) Bet he reminds you when it's time for a walk?!?
Here's a PIC of my beloved mutts -

Our dear "Bruiser Boy" - The Old English Sheepdog passed away at 9 1/2 years in late 2001 but our little English Spaniel mix (we guess ancestry since she's a rescue) is doing well and a certified therapy dog. We visit elder care centers each week.

15. I don't know when the last time a pointer won Westminster BUT
Edited on Tue Feb-15-05 11:29 PM by ElectroPrincess
you can probably check it out in the History tab on the Westminster Site.

http://www.westminsterkennelclub.org/

Also if you wish to view this event, it is replaying on USA tomorrow afternoon, i.e., on the east coast it's re-aired from 1-4 PM.

On Edit:

Here ya go - What used to be termed the "English Pointer" and now we drop the pretense and use "Pointer" has won Westminster a few times.

However, the only other time I can find that the GERMAN SHORTHAIRED Pointer has won was in 1974. Feel free to add to or correct me if I'm wrong?
