In appreciation of our California DU'ers

Having been on the receiving end of soooo many anti-South threads over the past couple years, and having hung my own head in embarrassment over the actions of my neighbors, fellow voters and representatives, I want to express my sympathy to y'all tonight. You fought the good fight and we honor you for that.

Ironically, one of your own, NSMA, is almost invariably among the first to come to our defense when the South is getting slammed so tonight I'd like to return the favor.

NSMA and all Californians, your friends just want you to know that we're with you... and tonight, for myself, Ich bin <ein> Californian.

I figured that my fellow Californians were wiser than they proved themselves to be tonight. There is no longer any geographical high ground or islands of sanity amid all this madness. The battle is everywhere.

My dad was from Texas, his dad was from Georgia. I do know a bit about the South!
