I looked at myself naked in the mirror today...
I asked myself, "Do you look fat in this body?"

Then I decided that I'd like to be 20 years younger, 30 pounds thinner, and 40 points higher on the Stanford-Binet Intelligence Test (which might put me into the genius category).

Things are looking up. For any of you still around from a few nights ago, the uterine biopsy didn't hurt and the doctor is only doing it to rule out anything unforeseen in the ultrasound.

3. The doctor and I are supposed to talk next Tuesday...
That'll be the last thing I have to do after shepherding my husband through his inguinal (groin) hernia operation.

I'll be playing nursemaid on Feb. 22, 23, 24, 25 and delivering the Percocet.

Wish me luck (and him, too). This is the second hernia operation for him (on the other side). The doctor said he'll make the scars match!

Isn't that precious?

7. Thanks, lady lib... you're a peach!
Hey, we're both ladies! But I've been told that's an English term. But are we perpetrating a monarchy here? Should be calling ourselves "woman lib" and "Radio_Woman"?

In peace, Radio_Lady

9. I call him ALQuixote... (from "Man of La Mancha")
Edited on Wed Feb-16-05 01:29 AM by Radio_Lady
... he calls me a derivation of Aldonza, the whore, who Quixote kept referring to as "my Lady" while she insisted she "wasn't any kind of a lady!"

It's kind of a family thing and seems to be resistant to translation.... sorry...

17. Yeah, I get loopy, too-py by midnight!
Too much computer work and not enough exercise. What time is it where you are? It's just 1:07 PM here Pacific Time.

I'm emailing my husband now -- "One woman on the Internet said you're lucky I didn't pet-name you 'Donkey Ho T' instead of ALQuixote. But you can still call me Elanzo or Donkey Hottie if you want. (EXPLICIT SEXUAL COME ON DELETED HERE.)"

4. Dear Incorrigible -- I was in Mensa by a point or two...
I consider myself adequately intelligent for what I've been doing in this life. I'll never be able to do calculus and need help balancing my checkbook. But I'll take you on in oral or written speech -- any topic but sports.

What should I say about "The DU Lounge"? Love it or leave it!

Love ya tonight!

10. i'm not saying you're stupid
i have no idea how intelligent you are, though you seem very smart. im just saying that the test itself is misused now. Binet intended it to be used as a way to identify children who might need help, not as a monolithic guage of intelligence.

and im a lounge lizard, born and raised :)

11. Meh! If you were smarter it would just be that
much more painful to live in this world of stupid people. You should be aiming for dumber.. then it won't hurt as much. ;)

Good luck btw.

Edited on Wed Feb-16-05 01:15 PM by Radio_Lady
Also, I don't separate people into two groups: stupid and not stupid. I know a good deal about a lot of things, but even the least of us knows something about a few things. Last week, a service worker told me how he was studying to be a motorcycle repairman. I found it very interesting!

How about idiot savants who can play piano and tell you what day of the week, say, May 31, 1939 fell on?

Sorry, but I don't accept being dumber as a goal for myself.

23. All those goals are acheivable hon
If you're willing to work at it. Remember that you're only as old as you feel. There are some 20 year olds who feel much older for being around really immature people.

So get on the treadmill and hit the books and think yourself back to a younger age.

oh, and smile, it makes you look beautiful :hi:

(feel free to tell me to shut up if you want :P )

26. IronLionZion, thanks for the encouragement!
I've been walking more and eating less.

Result: 7 1/2 pounds lost!

I always think young... that's why I am astounded when I see my photo. It's not the ME I think I see!

I volunteer with young people and am constantly on the prowl for new books and topics for my audio program.

To hear it, go to:

Choose a media player in the SECOND box which will connect you to the 24/7 streaming audio for "Golden Hours" on Oregon Public Broadcasting. My show airs Mondays at 1 PM Pacific Time -- please calculate for your time zone!

In peace, Radio Lady
