I'm a West Coast Carl Roves!!!! My guy just got elected!!!
Edited on Wed Oct-08-03 12:05 AM by TheReligiousLeft
I just decided an election. There was no difference in the people running for President of the dorm complex I live in so I grabbed this one freshmen aside and politiced him up. I wrote him a speech and explained policy (as well as getting in good with the exchange student block) he has won by a heck of a lot! I WON BY A HECK OF A LOT!!!
Anyway, he has 5,000 dollars to spend on policy. The only policy that was his was a formal dance. I got him to decide that he wants to get the hall to do community service among other things!

1. Community service?
These are college kids?
Find a way to get booze and chicks. That's what college is all about, man! Haven't you seen Animal House?

2. In fact Animal house was filmed on Campus
I'm aware, U of O was where the movie was filmed. I am also aware of all the drunk sexed up folks here. That said they don't vote at non-manditory meetings. I got my candidate to HAVE a platform (the other candidates didn't, or so I heard) so the fact that he had plans, and idealistic plans helped him. The fact that I put really cleaver words into his mouth (although he took out my part about Mental Masterbation for some reason) made him sound better than the other candidates. I'm pleased, my dorm will be at least marginally other centered, which is good.

4. But good people are smart (wisdom leads to virtue)
so they don't need me to play kingmaker... Just from pure logic I have to turn to the bad people and become their brains...
Kidding. you are right. Who knows, the only political offices I'll run for (I think) will be Bishop and maybe a few local offices, but maybe I could actually make it a habit of convincing other to make moral policy choices (in this last case community service).
