5. The local news was having fun with these this morning
"Don't make him turn his head too fast, or the slobber will fly!"

Definitely a different looking dog.

9. I raised and trained Boston Terriers and Cocker Spaniels...
When I saw that Neopolitan Mastiff, my jaw dropped! I liked the comment from (I think it was) Lester Holt, NBC. This dog should be first in line for plastic surgery.

Too much drool from mastiffs and the things that live in the crevices of those wrinkles give me the creeps.

Boston Terriers are great, except they snore.

Cocker Spaniels are great, except they piddle when excited ("submissive wetting") which is a dominant fault.

Cavalier King Charles Spaniels are great, except they have heart problems.

I'm thinking of getting a Shiba Inu (Japanese dog that looks like a little fox) or a Basenji (the quote-barkless dog-unquote).

10. my neighbor
has a Shiba Inu. Can't say I'm wild about it. I'm also not a fan of the few Basenjis I've met.

13. OK... my biggest problem with dogs is that we travel a lot...
... and my house has beige carpets, white tile, and a small backyard.

I'm probably not a very good person to have a dog. When Spice was killed by a car in 1988, I swore I wouldn't have another dog. We've kept this promise for a long time.

16. A former boyfriend had one. Stick with the bulldog. :-)
They require A LOT of care. His had to have her eyes "done" because the eyelids turned inside out and the eyelashes were rubbing on the cornea, which would have resulted in ulcers on the eye and blindness.

The folds in her skin were prone to sores and infection. He had to clean the folds with q-tips and alcohol at least once a week.

She also slobbered more than I would have preferred. And, she had to have a c-section to have her puppies. She did have a big litter, though. I think she had ten puppies.

He sold the pups for $2,000 each, so I guess she earned her keep.

He treated her like a child. His whole basement, which was huge, belonged to her. It smelled like shit--mostly because he wouldn't let her out while he was at work, and she indeed pooped there. He was afraid someone would steal her if she went out while he was at work.

Stick with Tucker. :loveya:

17. lol
sounds like all the same problems bulldogs are prone to.

cherry-eye, skin problems, require c-sections....

Tucker's had no problems yet, though.
