1. Revenge.
I'm drinking and analyzing the news. We can beat this gradual coup.

2. How and when?
It feels like we've been waiting a long, long time. What I see is a steady, relentless GOP drive to win every fucking election in their path by any means necessary, and to use any and all means to get their fascist selves into power, including impeachment, recalls, stealing, hacking, disenfranchizing. They have no scruples. They will do whatever it takes. And we will continue mourning and plotting in our separate isolation. How come such anti-social motherfuckers are so well-connected?

4. Don't forget *'s slide in the polls
When push comes to shove the governorship of CA is a blip on the radar screen. *'s approval ratings are in serious jeopardy and thus his reelection chances. There is reason for hope.

11. You have precisely described the Rove plan.
Winning by any means is all.

I'm sick of hearing "the sheeple have spoken/america is dead" after elections.

(I'm not reacting to this post - I'm reacting to the general tenor of DU/GD today)

8. I'm With You on That
More often than not, the one who use "sheeple" are usually the ones best described by that worn-out term. Adolescent pseudointellectualism gets really, really fast.

14. Me too
Though I can definitely understand the sentiment. This is part of why I'm sick of mourning elections gone bad, because they validate the illusion that the US is pro-fascist/Republican/right. If the recall had lost or Bustamante had won, this would not be an issue. We would be feeling vindicated. What's irritating is that the vindication that most of us believe is our just due has once again been indefinitely postponed.

12. A tremendous embarassment for the Democratic Party
so says local (Pittsburgh) news commentator Hank Baughman, an obvious Repuke. But I am getting very sick of the beating the Democratic party has been taking from Republicans. Fact is, it's our own fault, we really need to get our shit together, get strong financial backing and start fighting back with our own radio talk shows, liberal news programs, etc.

15. What worries me most is that this means that
people still don't know, and what that means for '04.
