Has rock been hiding under a rock for the last 10 years?
Seriously..... There are so many albums that have come out in the last 6 months that I love I'm actually buying CDs again! I haven't bought CDs since 1996. And then WHAM!

I mean seriously, Franz Ferdinand's album is what I've been waiting for for 10 fucking years!

3. Not really, the mainstream just wised up....
...bands that good, if not better have been around for years, just more lurking on indie labels and such.

4. You're about to catch the wrath of the music snobs!
Run & hide! Quick!

EVERYone knows that Franz Ferdinand is only re-hashing what other, more obscure, better bands from Nova Scotia and New Zealand have been doing since the late 80's. EVERYONE knows that, dammit!

PS - I quite like FF, but don't tell my cool friends, OK?

They can take their wrath and shove it. Hard. :-)

I don't spend hours each day trolling record shops buying CDs of bands I don't know, and will possibly hate just because I may find something remotely interesting.

I'm speaking as just one guy who likes music but is not a music fanatic, and I have been really saddened by the death of listenable rock that happened from 1995-2004. I'm clear it's partially a result of the rise and "popularity" of pop via corporate slingshot. I'm very happy that the death was only temporary and music is good again.

HEAR ME NOW! I LOVE MUSIC AGAIN!

6. Well, you're quite the lame-oid, aren'tcha?
FF stole all of their music from a little known band from Rwanda, minus the lyrics, the drum beat, and the chords. EVERYONE knows that!
