Songs that describe George Bush
Edited on Wed Feb-16-05 07:01 PM by blue neen
I'll start. "Big Time" by Peter Gabriel

It describes the fraud that Bush is.

"I'm on my way, I'm making it
I've got to make it show, yeah
so much larger than life
I'm going to watch it growing.

the place where I come from is a small town
they think so small
they use small words
--but not me
I'm smarter than that
I worked it out
I'VE BEEN STRETCHING MY MOUTH
TO LET THOSE BIG WORDS COME RIGHT OUT.

I've had enough, I'm getting out
to the city, the big, big city
I'LL BE A BIG NOISE WITH ALL THE BIG BOYS
THERE'S SO MUCH STUFF I WILL OWN
AND I WILL PRAY TO A BIG GOD
AS I KNEEL IN THE BIG CHURCH

<snip>

my parties have all the big names
and I greet them with the widest smile
tell them how my life is one big adventure
and always they're amazed
when I show them round the house, to my bed
I had it made like a mountain range
with a snow-white pillow for my BIG FAT HEAD
AND MY HEAVEN WILL BE A BIG HEAVEN
AND I WILL WALK THROUGH THE FRONT DOOR

big time
I'm on my way--I'm making it
big time big time
I've got to make it show yeah
big time big time
so much larger than life
I'm going to watch it growing
big time big time
my CAR is getting bigger
big time
my HOUSE is getting bigger
big time
my EYES are getting bigger
big time
AND MY MOUTH
big time
my BELLY is getting bigger
big time
and MY BANK ACCOUNT
big time
look at MY CIRCUMSTANCE
big time
and the bulge in my big big big big big big big...

4. Walk Idiot Walk
THE HIVES

"Walk Idiot Walk"

Well is it true what they say about it
They say it's new but I have to doubt it
And then they tell you everything about it
Had enough

I got some people saying this way
I got some people saying that way
I got some people saying there's no way
Ain't it tough

See the idiot walk
See the idiot talk
See the idiot chalk up his name on the blackboard
See the robot walk
See the robot talk
See the robot write up his name on the ballot
They say this is all I need to get by
The truth is baby it's a lie

Well is it true what they say about it
You oughtta do what I do and doubt it
He won and now he's gonna do something about it
Ain't it sad

And if you don't wanna feel like a putz
Collect the clues and connect the dots
You'll see the pattern that is bursting your bubble
And it's Bad

See the idiot walk
See the idiot talk
See the idiot chalk up his name on the blackboard
They say this is all I need to get by
The truth is baby it's a lie

If we review the winning combination
Body at work and a mind on vacation
Who had the brain where it started to sink in
It was you

You've seen the idiot walk
See the idiot talk
But you never learned nothing and nothing isn't over
See the robot walk
See the robot talk
Still you never learned nothing and nothing isn't over
They say this is all I need to get by
The truth is baby it's a lie

12. "Red Raw" by Motorhead
Monster in the moonlight
Devils in his head
How can they talk so loud?
Tonight is his to take nobody knows his face
Something he will not allow
Unseen, wet dream, steel claw.
Moonshine, carmine, Red Raw.

Horror in the starlight, faces in the rain,
Killer want to fall in love
Worms in his mind,
revenous and blind,
now he starts to feel good.

(Chorus)
All blood is his to drink
He takes his fill and more,
face and heads all red
drown in sweet, sweet gore,
all blood is his tonight,
he bathes in red delight
and all he wants to do
is more and more and more.

Terror without pity
Fevor in his mind
death, confusion, love and blood,
looking for a perfect one,
Seek and ye shall find
Crazy and he feels good
Unseen, wet dream, sharp claw,
moonshine, carmine, red raw.

Monster in the gaslight,
shivers in the cold, looking for a bad girl
Whimpering and mad
but he ain't feeling bad
Crazy in his own world

Chorus

Horror in the shadows,
red and white and dead
rain is falling in her hair
now what he loves best.
Head dips to the wounds
Face a scarlet nightmare
Unseen, wet dream, skin crawl
blade shine, carmione, red raw.

Horror in the twilight
Women run and scream
Killer's gone a long time
Red mask turns to grin,
see the shape he's in
this is what he's born for.

Chorus

16. OMG, I just listened to that. It's perfect!
I have a Steppenwolf Greatest Hits CD, but had never really paid attention to that song before.

"We don't know how to mind our own business
cause we want everyone to be like us!"

How can I get the rest of the lyrics? I couldn't get them all by listening, but that is a kick-ass song and very apropos for the times.

15. Police and Thieves
Oh yeah!
Scaring the nation with their guns and ammunition
Police and thieves in the street
Oh yeah!
Fighting the nation with their guns and ammunition

From Genesis to Revelation
The next generation will be hear me
From Genesis to Revelation
The next generation will be hear me

And all the crowd comes in day by day
No one stop it in anyway
And all the peacemaker turn war officer
Hear what I say

Police, police, police and thieves oh yeah
Police, police, police and thieves oh yeah
From Genesis oh yeah
Police, police, police and thieves oh yeah

Scaring, fighting the nation
Shooting, shooting their guns and ammunition

Police, police, police and thieves oh yeah
Police, police, police and thieves oh yeah
Here come, here come, here come
The station is bombed
Get out get out get out you people
If you don't wanna get blown up

17. "Leper Messiah" by Metallica.
Spineless from the start, sucked into the part
circus comes to town, you play the lead clown
Please, please
spreading his disease, living by his story
Knees, knees
falling to your knees, suffer for his glory
You will

Time for lust, time for lie
time to kiss your life goodbye
Send me money, send me green
Heaven you will meet
Make a contribution
and you'll get a better seat

Bow to Leper Messiah

Marvel at his tricks, need your Sunday fix
blind devotion came, rotting your brain
Chain, chain
Join the endless chain
Stinking by his glamour
Fame, Fame
Infection is the game, stinking drunk with power
We see

Bow to Leper Messiah

Witchery, weakening
Sees the sheep are gathering
set the trap, hypnotize
now you follow

Lie.

18. Also "In the Name of God" by Dream Theater
How can this be?
Why is he the chosen one?
Saint gone astray
With a scepter and a gun
Learn to believe
In the might and the strong
Come bleed the beast
Follow me it won't be long
Listen when the prophet
Speaks to you
Killing in the name of God
Passion
Twisting faith into violence
In the name of God
Straight is the path
Leading to your salvation
Slaying the weak
Ethnic elimination
Any day we'll all be
Swept away
You'll be saved
As long as you obey
Lies
Tools of the devil inside
Written in Holy disguise
Meant to deceive and divide
Us all
Listen when the prophet
Speaks to you
Killing in the name of God
Passion
Twisting faith into violence
In the name of God
Blurring the lines
Between virtue and sin
They can't tell
Where God ends
And mankind begins
They know no other
Life but this
From the cradle
They are claimed
Listen when the prophet
Speaks to you
Killing in the name of God
Passion
Twisting faith into violence
In the name of God
Hundreds of believers
Lured into a doomsday cult
All would perish
In the name of God
Self-proclaimed messiah
Led his servants
To their death
Eighty murdered
In the name of God
Forty sons and daughters
Un-consenting plural wives
Perversions
In the name of God
Underground religion
Turning toward
The mainstream light
Blind devotion
In the name of God
Justifying violence
Citing from the Holy Book
Teaching hatred
In the name of God
Listen when the prophet
Speaks to you
Killing in the name of God
Passion
Twisting faith into violence
In the name of God
Religious beliefs
Fanatic obsession
Does following faith
Lead us to violence?
Unyielding crusade
Divine revelation
Does following faith
Lead us to violence?

They are Progressive Metal. So, you may or may not be into that. I like them a lot. "In The Name Of God" comes from their most recent release "Train of THought" which came out in late 2003.

20. "It's A Hit" - Rilo Kiley
the first verse:

Any chimp can play human for a day
use its posable thumbs to iron his uniform
and run for office on election day
fansy himself a real decision maker
and deploy more troops than salt shakers

but it's a jungle where war is made
and you'll panic and throw your own shit at the enemy
the camera pulls back to reveal your true idenity
look, its a sheep in wolf's clothing
smoking gun holding ape

22. Dare to be Stupid
Words and music copywright Weird Al Yankovich

Put down your chainsaw and listen to me
It's time for us to join in the fight
It's time to let your babies grow up to be cowboys
It's time to let the bedbugs bite

You better put all your eggs in one basket
You better count your chickens before they hatch
You better sell some wine before it's/its time
You better find yourself an itch to scratch

You better squeeze all the Charmin you can while Mr. Wimpole's not around
Stick your head in the microwave and get yourself a tan

Talk with your mouth full
Bite the hand that feeds you
Bite on more than you chew
What can you do
Dare to be stupid

Take some wooden nickles
Look for Mr. Goodbar
Get your mojo working now
I'll show you how
You can dare to be stupid

You can turn the other cheek
You can just give up the ship
You can eat a bunch of sushi and forget to leave a tip

Dare to be stupid
Come on and dare to be stupid
It's so easy to do
Dare to be stupid
We're all waiting for you
Let's go

It's time to make a mountain out of a molehill
So can I have a volunteer
There's no more time for crying over spilled milk
Now it's time for crying in your beer

Settle down, raise a family, join the PTA
Buy some sensible shoes and a Chevyrolet
And party 'till you're broke and they drive you away
It's OK, you can dare to be stupid

It's like spitting on a fish
It's like barking up a tree
It's like I said you gotta buy one if you wanna get one free

Dare to be stupid (yes)
Why don't you dare to be stupid
It's so easy to do
Dare to be stupid
We're all waiting for you
Dare to be stupid

Burn your candle at both ends
Look a gift horse in the mouth
Mashed potatoes can be your friends

You can be a coffee achiever
You can sit around the house and watch Leave It To Beaver
The future's up to you
So what you gonna do

Dare to be stupid
Dare to be stupid
What did I say
Dare to be stupid
Tell me, what did I say
Dare to be stupid
It's alright
Dare to be stupid
We can be stupid all night
Dare to be stupid
Come on, join the crowd
Dare to be stupid
Shout it out loud
Dare to be stupid
I can't hear you
Dare to be stupid
OK, I can hear you now
Dare to be stupid
Let's go, Dare to be stupid
Dare to be stupid
Dare to be stupid
Dare to be stupid
Dare to be stupid
Dare to be stupid
Dare to be stupid
Dare to be stupid

27. Denis Leary says it best.
I'm just a regular Joe with a regular job
I'm your average white suburbanite slob
I like football and porno and books about war
I've got an average house with a nic hardwood floor
My wife and my job, my kids and my car
My feet on my table, and a cuban cigar

But sometimes that just ain't enough to keep a man like me interested
(Oh no) No Way (Uh-uh)
No, I've gotta go out and have fun
At someone else's expense
(Oh yeah) Yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah

I drive really slow in the ultrafast lane
While people behind me are going insane

I'm an asshole (He's an asshole, what an asshole)
I'm an asshole (He's an asshole, such an asshole)

I use public toilets and piss on the seat
I walk around in the summertime saying, "How about this heat?"

I'm an asshole (He's an asshole, what an asshole)
I'm an asshole (He's the world's biggest asshole)

Sometimes I park in handicapped spaces
While handicapped people make handicapped faces

I'm an asshole (He's an asshole, what an asshole)
I'm an asshole (He's a real fucking asshole)

Maybe I shouldn't be singing this song
Ranting and raving and carrying on
Maybe they're right when they tell me I'm wrong

Naaaah!

I'm an asshole (He's an asshole, what an asshole)
I'm an asshole (He's the world's biggest asshole)

29.  Go To Hell ~ Alice Cooper
For criminal acts and violence on the stage

For being a brat

Refusing to act your age

For all of the decent citizens you've enraged

You can go to Hell

For gambling and drinking alcohol constantly

For making us doubt our parents authority

For choosing to be a living obscenity

You can go to Hell

You're something that never should have happened

You even make your Grandma sick

You'd poison a blind man's dog and steal his cane

You'd gift wrap a leper

And mail him to your Aunt Jane

You'd even force-feed a diabetic a candy cane

You can go to Hell

You're something that never should have happened

You even make your Grandma sick

For criminal acts and violence on the stage

For being a brat

Refusing to act your age

For all of the decent citizens you've enraged

You can go to Hell

34. "The Hell of It"
THE HELL OF IT

(FROM THE 20TH CENTURY FOX FILM "PHANTOM OF THE PARADISE")

(Lyrics & Music Paul Williams)

Roll on thunder
shine on lightnin'
the days are long
and the nights are frightnin'
Nothing matters anyway
and that's the hell of it

Winter comes
and the winds blow colder
well some grew wiser
you just grew older
And you never listened anyway
and that's the hell of it

Good for nothin'
bad in bed
nobody likes you
and you're better off dead
goodbye
We've all come to say goodbye (goodbye)
Born defeated
died in vain
Super destruction you were hooked on pain
and tho' your music lingers on
All of us are glad you're gone

If I could live my life half as worthlessly as you
I'm convinced that I'd wind up burning too

Love yourself as you love no other
be no man's fool be no man's brother
We're all born to die alone
y'know that's the hell of it
Life's a game where they're bound to beat you
and time's a trick they can turn to cheat you
And we only waste it anyway
and that's the hell of it

Good for nothin'
bad in bed
nobody likes you
and you're better off dead
goodbye
We've all come to say goodbye (goodbye)
Born defeated
died in vain
Super destruction you were hooked on pain
and tho' your music lingers on
All of us are glad you're gone

(this in anticipation of Shrub's being ejected from office as things go sprialing down...)

38. Another song that reminds me of George Bush.
"The Big Money" by Rush

Big money goes around the world
Big money underground
Big money got a mighty voice
Big money make no sound
Big money pull a million strings
Big money hold the prize
Big money weave a mighty web
Big money draw the flies

Sometimes pushing people around
Sometimes pulling out the rug
Sometimes pushing all the buttons
Sometimes pulling out the plug
It's the power and the glory
It's a war in paradise
It's a cinderella story
On a tumble of the dice

Big money goes around the world
Big money take a cruise
Big money leave a mighty wake
Big money leave a bruise
Big money make a million dreams
Big money spin big deals
Big money make a mighty head
Big money spin big wheels

Sometimes building ivory towers
Sometimes knocking castles down
Sometimes building you a stairway -
Lock you underground
It's that old-time religion
it's the kingdom they would rule
It's the fool on television
Getting paid to play the fool

Big money goes around the world
Big money give and take
Big money done a power of good
Big money make mistakes
Big money got a heavy hand
Big money take control
Big money got a mean streak
Big money got no soul...
