Is it bad to wash dishes with handsoap?
I ran out of dishsoap, and all i have left is handsoap (it's liquid handsoap. not like a bar of soap)...i have no way to get more right now, but i need to wash some dishes so i can make dinner.

does anyone have any idea if this is bad? just seems wierd.....handsoap smells different than dishsoap, i'm kind of scared to use it :scared:

1. Not dangerous..just won't get all the grease off. Hand soap is milder.

2. should be ok
Some handsoaps contain a bit of lotion, making them bad for washing eyeglasses with, but should be ok for dishes. Most of it is advertising, in my esteemed opinion. Barsoap works ok too. Are you scared enough to issue a scared alert?

3. No, it's fine.
I've even washed em with bar soap before. It's all the same as long as you rinse properly.

4. No, but rinse well as hand soap sometimes has more residue
The smell and sudds in either soap is put there by maufacturers.

:( i guess i'll do this then. i just wanted to make sure at least someone else did it and it actually cleaned the glasses...i'll just have to rinse really well so all my food doesn't get cooked in soap suds. lol
