When I was a GS, I sold the 2nd highest volume, without my mother's help in signing pledges, etc. I did it door - door, and with permission of a nursing home owner, I did ask if the residents wanted to buy GS cookies. Most of them bought the peanut butter ones no one wanted at the time, which boost my sales. I also kept up with them at Easter time, etc, to boost their spirits in return.

I think most GS DON'T sell D-D, and it's so different from my parents' generation that more GS rely their parents do their work for them. If the girls don't do it door-door (unless permits are required and expensive), then I'm not as inclined to buy them. I've told anyone at work their daughters have to personally sell me the cookies.
