People will tell you where they've gone
They'll tell you where to go
But till you get there yourself you never really know
Where some have found their paradise
Other's just come to harm
Oh Amelia, it was just a false alarm

*****************

I'm traveling in some vehicle
I'm sitting in some cafe
A defector from the petty wars
That shell shock love away
There's comfort in melancholy
When there's no need to explain
It's just as natural as the weather
In this moody sky today
In our possessive coupling
So much could not be expressed
So now I'm returning to myself
These things that you and I suppressed
I see something of myself in everyone
Just at this moment of the world
As snow gathers like bolts of lace
Waltzing on a ballroom girl

**********************

Dora says, "Have children!"
Mama and Betsy say-"Find yourself a charity."
Help the needy and the crippled or put some time into Ecology."
Well, there's a wide wide world of noble causes
And lovely landscapes to discover
But all I really want right now
Is...find another lover

***********************

In search of love and music
My whole life has been
Illumination
Corruption
And diving, diving, diving, diving.
Diving down to pick up on every shiny thing
Just like that black crow flying
In a blue sky

*****************

Those are just a few of the lyrics that really resonate with me from that album. I love how much she reveals on this album. And Jaco Pastorius is amazing on the bass.

25. Oh I wish I had a river --
-- I could sail away on...

is a fine, fine song from BLUE, but everybody here is just making great sense. Joni Mitchell is a wizard. I don't feel like she owes me another note.

Pressed to choose, I would refuse,
And so never to lose the blues and
beautitudes
of a graceful poet musician.

Long live Joni Mitchell.

26. Night ride home at the moment
All are good, and I have owned them all at one point in my life or another.

Sonatas of visual imagery

...enter into the multitudes
In Exxon Blue
In Radiation Rose
Ecstasy
Now you tell me
Who you going to get to do your dirty work
When all the slaves are free?

I am up a Sycamore
Looking through the leaves
"A sinner of some disposition"
Who in the world can this heart healer be
This magical Physician

Thanks for the post

29. Blue is the first and the best, in her innocence.
It's amazing to listen to her voice then and now... well not anymore, I saw her for the first time on her last tour, Sultry as ever.

It really does depend on the mood. The complexity of the words theres always a little more that you can pull form what she says.

Painting another starry night.

30. I'm always running behind the time, just like this train...
I've listened to these albums for so many years that I couldn't begin to choose. Nice to know so many people here love Joni Mitchell, too.

A strange boy is weaving
A course of grace and havoc
On a yellow skateboard
Thru midday sidewalk traffic... :hi:

And I want him to be manly, I catch my fool and my child needing love and understangin. What a strange, strange boy.....

This poll doesn't help! :)
