Does anyone else just love Boz Scaggs?
I was listening to Silk Degrees last night...the entire disc is one that I can listen to over and over...I think it was an R and B masterpiece...I love his voice and love the arrangements in it..his lyrics are corny but sometimes that makes the music stand out all the more.

1. I used to play that album just before going out to a party...
Always got me in a party mood! Wow, what was that, about 6 or 7 years ago? :)

3. He does oldies very well also
I bought But Beautiful a month or two ago and it's so much better than that shit that Rod Stewart's been pushing lately. Boz's voice is much more suited for it.

And don't forget his work with Steve Miller Band.

Boz is a legend.

7. Yeah..I looked him up last night to see what he had done lately
and saw that...I've seen him live several times but most recently a few years back with Stevie Nicks at the Universal Amphitheater in LA..he was stellar that night and his voice ranges from soulful to downright angelic..even live he doesn't miss a note. He's actually a damn good guitar player too...he can do a lot more with rhythm than some can with lead.

5. Yep, ever since I first heard him on, believe it or not, Jane Fonda's work
out record back in the early 80's. Best part of that whole darned workout.

and he's a really nice guy, too. ;)

(ps...not a homewrecker... he was separated when I met him)

Musically, I have long considered him to be one of the most under-rated musicians and songwriters. His work is simple yet incredibly tender and moving. That adds up to genius in my book.

19. I'll be 36 this year . . .
I think '76 is when that song came out, right? Another song of that nature that brings up great memories is "Baker Street". You just don't hear songs like that anymore. Now it's all poppunk shite with identical bratty-sounding vocalists.

Age is all in how you feel, remember. :)

18. Lido Shuffle

Lido missed the boat
That day he left the shack
But that was all he missed
He ain't comin' back

At a tombstone bar
In a juke-joint car he made a stop
Just long enough
To grab a handle off the top
Next stop Chi'town
Lido put the money down
Let her roll
He say, "one more job oughta get it
One last shot 'fore we quit it"

One for the road

Lido, whoa-oh-oh-oh....
He's for the money, he's for the show
Lido's a-waitin' for another go
Lido, whoa-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh....
He said, "one more job oughta get it"
"One last shot, we quit it"
"One more for the road"

Lido be runnin',
Havin' great big fun 'til he got the note
Sayin' "toe the line or blow it"
And that was all she wrote
He be makin' like a beeline,
Headin' for the borderline, goin' for broke
Sayin, "one more hit oughta do it"
"This joint, ain't nothin' to it"
"One more for the road"

Lido, whoa-oh-oh-oh....
He's for the money, he's for the show
Lido's a-waitin' for another go
Lido, whoa-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh....
"one more job oughta get it"
"One last shot, and we quit it"
"One more for the road"

Lido, whoa-oh-oh-oh....
He's for the money, he's for the show
Lido's a-waitin' for another go
Lido, whoa-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh....
