Christ! I applied for a HUGE job (kind of on a whim) and have been asked
to submit another app for a HIGHER possible position!

got an email directly from the VP thanking me for my app and asking if I would consider a management position (as well) which will not interfere with my pervious application!

i have never been asked this before but am excited. while i cannot tell you WHO i am applying with or what FOR specifically (trust me this would be HUGE), suffice to say that either position would "put me on the map"

ok. this is WAY premature because it is VERY possible that i will get NEITHER position but i'm getting just a LITTLE excited here.

thanks.

 time

:scared:

9. Congrats - I am going through something similar
I had applied to a local company here for a few of their open jobs in the past year or two. Most of the jobs I applied for were right in line with my current salary & experience... didn't even get an interview before getting the form rejection email back.

However, on a whim, I applied for a Director level job (skipping right over Manager - probably my current level - or Assistant Director), as it seemed like my experience was a good fit at least. The bottom of the salary range on this job would be a 33% raise for me - and, being higher management, I would also be entitled to a bigger bonus possibility.

Next day, I got a call from a woman in this company's HR department wanting to set up an interview. I was shocked.

It's obvious that you're meant for an awesome job.

Even if it doesn't work out, the fact that you are so well-regarded means a lot.
