As we all know, English is a bitch. As intelligent progressives, we like to express ourselves with a modicum of correct grammar and spelling. Otherwise we sound like freepers and other neocons *cough Bush cough*. Here's a great tool for when you're not sure if you're saying it the right way.

When I first started posting here I noticed these slime balls and called them on their stealthy infiltration of OUR site and got nailed by the mods until I learned to follow the rules I agreed to. I'm not in disagreement with this rule as it certainly cuts down on flame wars but it is rather frustrating to not be able to out these subtle spies.

15. I've always had a problem with lay, laid ...etc.....

She lays it down, laid it down, has laid it down, is laying it down. (The verb to lay takes an object; to lie doesn't.)

She lies down, lay down, has lain down, is lying down
