But I got so excited reading the previews in the Washington Post, NYT and USAToday. BTW, the NYT's shows exactly why the Rangers over-pay and underperform...they know nothing about Hockey in that town. Picking the Ducks to get their tee times ready. They're not as good as the USAToday spread, but certainly not as bad as the times would indicate

7. I watched more hockey tonight than baseball all season

Fantastic sport, other than the 4-on-4 OT garbage. That was a gimmick change that a classic sport does not need. Now you can even surrender a goal in OT and not lose a point. Better no OT than significantly alter the sport for 5 minutes.

Still, I love the sport, especially in person. Actual physical matchups and not pseudo action like baseball.

I work at a radio station in Seattle and don't you know that the sports guys did not once mention the start of hockey season all day!
The only time they have mentioned hockey was when Dany Heatley died.

I keep telling them here in Seattle they are alienating a lot of Canadian listeners by not even mentioning hockey...but what do I know eh????

Suffice it to say I will continue hounding these folks until we at least get a daily scoreboard.
