What's the story behind your DU screen name?
Mine? Pretty simple, I'm a rabid fan of the Chicago Cubs, and 1982 was the year I was born. You?

5. initials - and state initials
first time I revealed that - I learned that our dear departed Keph could have had the same nic had he used the same formula :(

Thing that is interesting, is that with a completely genderless nic - in the early days (and from time to time these days) I have been thought to be a male (which I am not). Go figure.

9. I moved to Madison in the year 2000
It was like I saw the light- found the place I was meant to live.

My dog got cancer in September 1999 when I was living in Chicago and I took him to the University of Wisconsin Vet School in Madison 20 times for treatment. They cured his cancer and I moved here the next summer. I had never been to Madison before but I knew on the first visit I would end up moving here.

24. Actually...
I don't even follow baseball any more. I used to follow the Braves (my father grew up in Georgia so I grew up watching them) but after the last strike fiasco I swore off baseball. Now I just make sure all my little shots at the Cubs are ready for spring training. My sister is a HUGE Cubs fan (she's got her initials & Ryne Sandberg's jersey number for her license plate) so I have to give her a lot of crap. ;)

66. Related to how I found DU
In an auto racing newsgroup I frequent, some loony (I didn't know of the term freeper yet) started spouting RW nonsense (but I repeat myself) and insulting everybody who he perceived to be to the left of Pinochet. He called me a "commie pinko dirtbag".

I googled the phrase, just for the hell of it. One of the hits was Auntie Pinko. The rest is history.

70. It's shitty Norwegian. When I started learning it 2 years ago, I thought
that "latter om den" meant "laugh about it," (which, come to think, doesn't even make much sense in ENGLISH, but that's okay) and I used it for my email address. Now, two years later, I realize that "latter om den" should actually be "LATT om DET," but latteromden stuck, and it's gotten easy to type, so I just leave it and forget about a screen name like lattomdet. Because that's just... weird.
