Going with "Lawrence", although it's a very tough call.

1. Dr. Zhivago

IMHO, the finest film ever made.

I have a weakness for David Lean epics, and a particular weakness for Dr. Zhivago, one of the few films I consider equal to the book in brilliance (another being To Kill A Mockingbird).

3. It's a beautiful film
It has it all - the acting, the writing, the photography, and the music. The soundtrack was hugely popular (once was MGM's best-selling album of all time), and rightly so.

I am going to have to get the DVD.

5. There is not a single performance in that movie that isn't above par.
Alec Guinness, Omar Sharif, Rod Steiger, Julie Christie...all of them gave spellbinding performances.
