I'm in love with Molly Ringwald ask me anything...
Feb. 18 is Molly Ringwald's birthday. She was my first big celebrity crush...you may have had your own, if so tell me about them...

In the meantime...:loveya:

book (which I read at 15) Ducky gets the girl. Molly had them change the script. :hi:

If I was Andie I would have dumped him on the first date...

If he was a nice guy, she was shallow...

The Duck-man was the true tragic figure of Pretty in Pink, and don't you forget it!

41. Is that what happened?
John Cryer was on "Dinner and a Movie" and he said the script had Ducky ending up with her, but he got food poisoning on lobster, and couldn't film the final scene. Who knows what the real case was?

Blaine was a jerk named after a major appliance.

Any woman with any depth to her character would first, and foremost be in love with Ducky.

55. actually
it was test audiences that caused the change in the script. Coupled with John Hughes' actual desire; he felt having her end up with Duckie could be seen as sending the message that one shouldn't "cross the tracks" in romance.

34. "Pretty In Pink" is when I began to hate John Hughes.
By "Home Alone" he was the anti-Christ. Right-wing bastard to boot.

As for Ms. Ringwald, I've never been into redheads, maybe because I am one. She's all yours. :-)

11. Funny story...My brother worked on "Night of the Running Man", a B movie
starring Andrew in the mid 1990's. Anyway, he had to call him for the producer and the producer wasn't available...so, my brother had to stall, but make it look like he wasn't stallling. Can't keep a star waiting and all that. He tells him this long story about how his sister (me) had this HUGE crush on him when she was younger and probably still did. Oy.

If you watch that film closely, my sister in law (before she and my brother were married) is in it. It's kind of like a home video. You can see them both. ;)

59. Yeah.
It's weird seeing him on tv now. We were in "The King and I" together. He is now as he was then, kinda awkward in his own body.

The really strange thing is that his mother (who was the toast of Broadway at the time) and sister were very hip and glamorous. Yet who's starred in movies and has a tv show?

"Spacehunter: Adventures in the forbidden Zone!"

57. I wouldn't say "has been"
Like many actors, she's chosen the stage route. Just finished a fantastic run as Sally in "Cabaret" off-Broadway.

She also got some incredibly bad advice just as her career was ready to hit that spot where you stay on top. She turned down, in succession, the leads in "Pretty Woman" and "Ghost", and turned down the Laura Dern role in "Blue Velvet" that was written specifically for her.

Go figure.

At that time I liked to watch reruns of Growing Pains on Disney. He was on that show when he was younger.
So I had a crush on him... then a while later Titanic came out and then EVERYONE loved him. So I was like.. eff that. :)

She's my one "exception" in the relationship.

For weirdness' sake: My first wife was a dead ringer for Molly. And she hated it. Easiest way to piss her off was to call her Molly.

Years and years later, I noticed something interesting. Tomorrow would be our anniversary.
