Pathology results in on Sirius. More bad news.
The primary tumor on his prostate gland is a very aggressive cancer. It has metatasized into his lung area. We still will start chemo tomorrow. I'll update tommorow or Saturday.

Sweet, sweet Sirius

10. Had to put my sweet Dolly down... breast cancer...
She was 12 years old. We put her through surgery and she survived. But it came back and she looked at me as if to say, "Please let me go to Dog Heaven." I know she's in a good place now.

I hope you have a better outcome.

I don't know how much Sirius can understand that he is sick, but he does know that he's loved.

18. Friendly suggestions & links
Very sorry to hear about your adorable dog. I know how difficult it is for you. Just a few friendly suggestions that helped us out. Switch him to human-grade dog food and spring water or filtered water if he isn't already (no cholorine, flouride, etc.). Giving him supplements like antioxidants, ip6, COQ 10, and green tea may also do a world of good. There are plenty of good websites that suggest which to choose and how much to give for dogs with cancer -- or you can find food and doggie vitamins like welltabs or wellcell from Old Mother Hubbard (find stores at http://oldmotherhubbard.com)

We were amazed at how well our 10-1/2 year old did after we changed her food and gave her a wide range of herbs and supplements. Our vets and oncologist were amazed too. They said she would be lucky to live a few days after diagnosis (innoperable TCC almost completely blocking her kidneys). 3-1/2 month's later, she was still swimming at the lake. They said they had never seen anything like it.

Here are some of the links I still had in my bookmarks... maybe there is something helpful for you. Best wishes with Sirius.
