Poll question: Which Of The Following Is Your Least Favorite President?
I'm not including Chimpy here because then EVERYONE would vote for him...we KNOW everyone here hates him.

Clinton is on the list as a possible choice, too...because, in many ways, Clinton was NOT a true progressive. Note that he passed NAFTA, welfare reform, and DOMA...hardly things a true progressive would do...and so, he is offered up as a choice here, as well.

4. Well, I Started The Poll...And I Voted Reagan!
Actually, this was just an exercise in seeing how you go about setting up a poll...since I'm a recently-starred new donor, with the ability now to set up polls, I just wanted to see how you do it.

2. I have to say Reagan...
He was the one who started the vitriol against liberals and turned the word 'liberal' into a perjorative term. He had a great personality and that was enough to veil the evil he was doing behind the scenes - he fooled enough people to get 525 electoral votes in 1984. Scary.

Reagan also ate one of his own policies. One of his very first acts as president banned research that could have found a cure for Alzheimer's, then he got Alzheimer's. Maybe Mother Nature has her own methods for dealing with assholes...

than anyone in history. Including the Doperama in there now. Reagan sucked and I was personally glad to see him go, but I will never forgive or forget Nixon.

7. I'd Have To Say One Of Two Possibilities
A Freeper troll voted Clinton....or a progressive like myself who didn't appreciate Clinton's support for NAFTA, DOMA, or welfare reform.

That, or maybe another like-minded progressive who feels Clinton's sexual antics may have cost us the White House for a long time to come!

There's plenty of legitimate reasons for not liking Bill Clinton, folks.

Now, personally, I will say that, while not always in agreement with his policies...the aforementioned NAFTA and DOMA among them...and the ever-famous "don't ask don't tell" policy...the economy was never better than on Clinton's watch, and so I like Clinton, and wish we had him back!

BUT...I can see a reasonable argument made for why he may have done us considerable harm, too!

9. I Didn't Say He Was...But SOMEONE Obviously Thinks So
and, hate to disillusion you....but clinton was no saint.

He may have done us irreparable damage with his sexual antics. Gore lost by a very slim margin in 2000...and it could be that clinton's antics were just enough to cause Gore to lose...and give us Chimpy.

Then again, his policies...in many areas...were NOT progressive.

I imagine whoever voted for Clinton in this poll is either a Freeper troll...or a extreme left-winger who really didn't appreciate Clinton's constant moves to the right.

and don't tell me Clinton didn't constantly move to, and appease the right. I've given three examples of where he did precisely that...DOMA, NAFTA, and welfare reform.

26. I voted for Clinton...
...because he was a "cheap labor" democrat. He supported NAFTA and GATT...you'd expect shit like that from Republicans but, from a Democrat, it's inexcusable.

He enthusiastically supported telecom deregulation that encouraged the type of media that is now screwing us every single day.

And he was a champion of welfare reform that eliminated the social safety net that protected millions of children....because Dick Morris convinced him it was the right thing to do, politics wise.

10. Actually, What Surprises Me Most So Far Is....
NO VOTES FOR POPPY!!

As bad a Chimpy is hated....no one has yet voted for Poppy.

Maybe I oughta try a poll just between Chimpy and Reagan. That would be interesting to see which one was more hated.

He was just a klutzy sod. Except for pardoning Nixon, he really didn't do much.

24. Becuase I Made The Poll...And I Didn't Feel There Was Enough
bad stuff on Mr. Carter to include him on this list. I basically included only Repukes. And clinton, because he advanced a large portion of the Conservative Agenda, in spite of being a Democrat.

Carter never advanced the conservative agenda. 'Bout the only thing Carter did that I disagreed with was giving away the Panama Canal.

There could also be an argument for including LBJ in this poll, after all he did play "Escaladio" with the Vietnamese! And by all accounts, he was not a nice guy if you trifled him.

But, again, I meant for this poll to be largely made up of Repukes.

But, how many, if any, of you would have voted for Carter or LBJ had I included them?

I didn't expect Ford to get any votes...except maybe from some people who were pissed off about him pardoning Nixon, or his involvement with the Warren Commission...and I turned out correct on that one.

I fully expected Reagan to run away with this poll. I'm surprised Poppy didn't get more votes, though.

As I said before, my main intent of making this poll was just to see how you go about doing it, as I had never made a poll before. I am a recently-starred new donor, so I just earned the capability to make polls (non-donors cannot initiate polls, though they can vote in them.)

20. Well, Ford served on the Warren Commission which promoted the
"lone nut" Oswald theory in JFK's assassination, as well as the "magic bullet" theory. That, besides pardoning Nixon, definitely qualifies him for this list. And don't forget Poland - like he did in his debate with Jimmy Carter.

25. Can You Share some Of Them??
I have already stated four of my own reasons for not liking Clinton. Overall, I liked his policies and his presidency...the economy has never been better...but I feel as though Mr. Clinton may have hurt us very badly with some of his policies....and some of his extracurricular activities.

Specifically, my reasons for inculding Clinton on the list were: DOMA, NAFTA, welfare reform, and his extracurricular activities.
