I must admit - I'll be 26 in a month and I'm not taking it well
It's freakin' me out man, I was out earlier at an open mike...I noticed something.... suddenly EVERYONE was way younger than me, but still in their 20s.
25 was no problem, 24 was a breeze...but it all seems like yesterday not a year ago.

:-(

And I argue the nature of existance and contemplate the nature of the mind.

3. I'm gonna be 35 real soon.
I'm still trying to figure out how the hell that managed to happen without me maturing past age 14.

It's a state of mind. Fuck it.

5. You ain't seen NUTHIN' yet, kiddo
Wait till you hit 30, 35, 40, 45, 50....!!!!!!

But here's the real deal: YOU CAN'T DO A DAMN THING ABOUT IT!!! It is GONNA happen. I recommend that you roll with it, appreciate every day, and realize the one really cool thing about getting older...you really do, in many respects, get better, and smarter. And your priorities change, the same types of things don't piss you off as much, other things become more important.

Aging--look at it as a long term E-ticket!

12. Yes, yes, yes and yes, MADem.
To the OP: I understand a sort of melancholy on each aging milestone, but try NOT to let it get you down. If you do, you're screwed. 'Cuz aging is like the latest hits; it just keeps on coming... :-)

6. HEyHEY
You're a baby. Don't worry about it. There is only one alternative and that one isn't so great.

You've had your chance to be 25 and now it's someone else's turn. It's your turn to be 26. You don't get another chance so make it count.

13. Well when you get to be an adult
you'll likely have children of your own.

So get used to having 'younger' people around.

Fact of Life.

16. It might...
My husband is eight years my senior...uh...like mid-40s. He looks almost as young as me (and I'm not exactly old-looking - lots of folks think I'm in my early 30s instead of the latter half). He says I keep him motivated to learn. ;-)

Just keep active, vital, and most of all, keep THINKING. That does wonders for you, IMHO.

9. 25 hit me hard
Really hard...Every birthday since has been a breeze. (I celebrated the 3rd anniversary of my 29th last birthday!)

I remember thinking that there were things I expected to have accomplished by 25, and feeling like I'd done none of them.

14. Try turning 30, or 35
But yeah, I remember turning 25 and 26 and thinking it odd that I was that old...

17. poor thing...i'm closing in on 40
when i was 29 i was freaking out because 30 was so close and then i got to 30 and it wasn't a big deal. Maybe I'd like to have the skin elasticity i once had but overall I'm enjoying this stage in my life so far.

18. If they are still in their 20s, they can't be WAY younger than you.
Just wait until everyone in the room really IS way younger than you.

Please...don't waste your youth worrrying about how "old" you are. I remember when I hit the quarter-century mark. You'd have thought I was ready for The Home.

You're young. Enjoy it.

Signed,
Grandma

20. Whatever you do DON'T WORRY ABOUT GETTING OLD.
Edited on Fri Feb-18-05 01:09 AM by LoZoccolo
Serious. I spent a good part of my late twenties worrying about how I wouldn't enjoy the rest of my life and next thing you know I'm thirty. Enjoy it rather than worrying.

23. I'm gonna be 40 in a couple of months
and it's kinda freakin' me out.

Some years it's really a bit of a freak-out.

It's true that the years do seem to pass more quickly, but that's only because you have more years to compare to. And that's a good thing, because the older you get the more you appreciate and value the time you have.

Hey HEyHEY, you go have a great 26th year! Make it your best yet!

25. Face it, anyone older than you is a old fart and younger are kids
It's true at any age (so far) and if I had had kids at your age, they would be driving now. Having my birthday close to Christmas makes it easier to ignore, most times when someone askes how old I am, I have to think about it for a second.

I play volleyball with people your age and while some of them undoubtedly consider me to be an old fart, I'm on the ground digging balls more often than most of them. If you think you are old, you are - most likely though, you are the perfect age for the person you are.
