Poll question: Best Submarine Movie

I've always liked this sub-genre of action/adventure movies.

I'll have to go with " Das Boot" as the best ever.

have to go with crimson tide because it had me on the edge of my seat. It was just so much more suspenseful and scary.

When it was first released I saw it with a girlfriend who spoke German. That relationship didn't turn out well, but she ejoyed talking about submarines, sharing beer, and sunbathing topless in her backyard -- which made her a godess to my naive young computer geek eyes.

10. I know it's dated, but when it came out, 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea

was one of most enjoyable movies around.

...but "20,000 Leagues" has a drunken seal.

There really is no competition.

Das Boot.

Many others are very - and I mean VERY good, but Das Boot is the king, and I don't see how anything could dethrone it.
(Obviously, I discount modern special effects)
