My wife and I were talking about this case last night and she raised an excellent point I hadn't thought about before.
Regarding his White House Press Pass, the Repubs can claim only one of two things took place:
One, they knew he was gay and a prostitute, yet allowed him the pass anyways. I hardly believe they would stick with this version of events. So much for being anti-crime and pro family values.
More likely, they didn't know he was gay and a prostitute and accordingly gave him the pass.
The latter could be even more problematic for the White House. In these times of danger from terrorist they let a man into the White House who they ordinarily would have denied access. From their perspective, a terrorist would be just as unwelcome as a prostitute (and a gay one to boot!) Doesn't that make you feel more secure? These are the same people that are tasked with keeping terrorist out of this nation and they couldn't keep a gay prostitute out of the White House?
By the way, I have no problem with the fact that Guckert is gay. I only use that to point out the hypocrisy inherent in the Repub party!
