ZZ TOP
Has anyone seen them lately? We have the opportunity to go to a concert and wonder what kind of show they (now) put on. I am a big ZZ Top fan but concerts are a whole nother ballgame so to speak. Would especially like hearing from old farts - those over 50!!! like me.

2. I saw them about a year ago,
and they were awesome (Ted Nugent opened for them, so even a monkey banging on a trashcan would be awesome by comparison, but still).

They can really play, and their stage show is great, too.

Of course, I'm only 21, so I can't compare that show to their older shows.

3. ZZTop wouldn't tour...
if they weren't going to play well and put on a good show. I don't think you need to fear a bad show. ZZTop takes their show business seriously!

Don't forget to take some cheap sunglasses.

4. have they renounced the BFEE and all their works?
Sorta disappointed when they played for W's first inauguration, but I said it was a big step up from Fleetwood Mac.

5. I saw them in the late 80s
A lot of the music was pre-recorded. They would do their little arm thingys and the guitar kept playing. Stuff like that. I had after the show passes and went backstage to eat their food and drink their beer, but when they came out for meet and greet I just grabbed two beers and got out of the way. The models that danced on stage were fun to meet though:).
They were ok... but not as good as I was hoping.

7. I'd like to forget that era of ZZTop
They are now back to more raw and edgier version like they were in the seventies.

8. Unfortunately
A lot of bands went that way in the 80s. I was so glad when that was over.

6. Oh yeah
they are still putting out albums. Good stuff although I think they were doing some crap for * during the inauguration. I'd hate to think they are freepers. They certainly don't seem like it. Oh well. Go see them. They are good.

9. Saw them back in '74, a free concert near the Charles River
in Boston. It was a good show, but of course it would be a lot different now.

11. They were on TV not more than a couple months ago
as part of a "great guitarists" concert with Eric Clapton.

They still sound great.
